(Open Broadcaster Software) are you using it to stream?

Is it working for you? Is there something you fucking want ? ive been looking at this and going, its bizarre, because you’re superceding IT professionals as to how you present yourselves on video while playing games/livestream and zoom meetings for whatever reason. So what is it that you want to do even more?!!

seems like it can be used with:

To me this looks like the infancy of PBS Charity Events or The Shopping Network but this is what I see. Or the ability to do a live event like broadcast a countdown to New Years or something like that.

Sorry, didn’t get that. What’s your question?

I’m glad I’m not the only one.

yeah i know eh? i came off a bit weird. a litle harsh, a little odd.

i guess what im trying to say is, is it something you recommend to people who want to make something crazy for their day to day meetings? or just for gaming?

OBS is good for streaming/recording.

You can certainly use OBS with zoom. Just use the built in “Virtual Camera”. I use it all the time to crop the webcam and add color correction as well as stabilizing exposure and focus, which with most of video meeting software, such options are not available.

Can you recommend some good tutorials to get up and running? How did you do and how long did it take you to feel comfortable? Is the graphics inclusive to the software or do you need after effects or photoshop?

yes! Reduced graphics. and other skill tricks you want to learn !!! Play as the game was designed !!!

um wha?

I dunno man. I just google stuff and read. It’s a little bit like photoshop, in the sense that is layer based, and a little bit like a DAW (Digital audio workstation) in the sense of handling input sources and output. I had plenty of experience with those before I started using streaming software, on top of using video editing tools in the past, so my learning curve wasn’t much.

OBS itself will use hardware acceleration (GPU) for some stuff, while CPU for others. You can disable GPU acceleration altogether and use only CPU as well. Depending on what you want to do one option may be better than the other.

It’s also open source, so don’t expect everything to work flawlessly, but for the most part, it works and it’s free, plus there’s thousands of “plugins” you can use to further expand the software limitations.

As for the shit you put in (overlays, graphics, and stuff) you kinda need to make those on something else and then use them as sources in obs
