I was just watching the orginal movie of the Predator and i noticed that the yatjua see in a shade of red without the mask. It gave me an idea that maybe the predator should have that kind of vision.

I would love that, but the truth is it would induce massive headaches for us to see that way without the thermal/biomask. Unfortunately the thermal itself hurts my eyes already, so normal vision being red would probably force me to quit playing.
Yup - what that is the infrared vision - natural/native Yautja vison is in fact heat vision. Helmets do not have thermal visors in them, just thermal filters, so its more understandable for the hunter what he is looking at in an inviroment with heat signatures completly different from his natvie world. You can see that the visor in City Hunter’s helmet(scene from P2 when he is being unmasked) is in fact a see-throug mesh - not a thermal camera. Thermal vision comes directly from Yautja eyes. Vision modes, including the iconic blue heat vision are just various filters applayd to his natvie infrared sight.
