So apparently when you pick up an OWLF recording, you also drop a copy. This includes the one you already have. You can keep doing this. Seems like these just multiply like tribbles.

I died cause of predator and they respawned me so I had to get my recording back from my dead body then my friend told me “why do you go there, look the other guy had 5 of them” I went like “what” and then we just realized that we can copy it by having one and picking up another one.
It’s probably to prevent you from bringing back every single recording in game.
so basically you can have max 1 and if you pick up more you’ll duplicate them causing you to drop 2 except one.
That can’t be right. I’ve seen my own characters dead body after a respawn and nothing around him was selectable. I would have seen it clearly. So it must be conditional and it must drop the same OWLF tape that you picked up in that same game session. For the predator, maybe it is different. Maybe they continually drop all their tapes upon death which would suck because its the one time among few that you get to play as a predator.
