I have found all of the Tapes… I have just found another one, but it did not even give me anything, it didnt even register that I got another one.
So if you continue to find them after you get them all theyre worthless… at this point.

Maybe they duplicate!, I have collected 3 out of 20 by that time and then one day I was playing a match with my friends and I found one recording so we all took it (even the Predator) and then all four escape in the choppa no one die! When I look for it on the collectibles I still have the same 3 so I didn’t get the new one!
well every one that I found were all different, and all showed up in the list after. again after i completed them all I found another one that the game didnt recognize I found it and it didnt give me anything for finding it.
maybe its different for everyone, or I just lucked out by not getting the same tape over and over.
It’s a very strange thing.
So wait I heard that you can either carry the purple in game currency pickups or an OWLF tape, so does that mean that as soon as you pick up any purple pick up, the tape, if there was one on the map disappears ? might try to avoid picking up the purple stuff from now on just to be sure…
I can assure you that you will never end up getting a duplicate. When multiple team mates get to exfil with the tapes, we have never had the same one. It seems that the game analyses the empty slots you have and chooses one slot at random to fill.
Heres what I know
you get the in game currency and find a tape at the end of the match i received both the currency i found and the tape.
after finding all 20 tapes any other tape found after having all 20 tapes is counted only as xp points and nothing more.
A duplicate tape to you is not a duplicate to another team member who does not have all the tapes, so point them out to others if found
This is correct. To be awarded the tape successfully, you need to either escape on the choppa while it is in your possession or in the case of a downed and preserved Predator, be alive when OWLF arrive for the body. If you are downed during a match with a tape, you drop it and have to pick it up again if you are revived. If you die, it will be where ever you died and when you are reinforced you’ll need to go back and pick it up again.
A strange thing happens when a teammate picks it up when you die, it seems to spawn multiples at that spot. And it will respawn more if someone other than the person who found that particular tape picks it up. I don’t know if they unlock the tape too even though they didn’t get it from its original spawn point. But I know that any FT can pick up the tape when you drop it from being downed.
Definitely. Just “spot” them so they appear on everyone’s radar.
I mean if it helps others why not right?
It seems that the “purple bricks”–I mean the stack of fully formed bricks-- will replace the tape and vice-versa when picked up–apparently some players had faced this scenario.
So if you have the OWLF tape and you pick up a stack of purple bricks, the tape is dropped and in its place now you have those bricks (which provide a larger Veritaniun) and vice-versa.
I, for one, didn’t try it out to confirm or not it.
Well I havent lost any currency picking up tapes… If this is true then I dunno. I received it all after escape
That’s new to me and very strange, because I know in my solo VT farming matches I’ve collected multiple brick piles AND the OWLF tape. It never swapped them, and all VT amounts were correct at the end of the mission as well as the tape being acknowledged in the unlock. And believe me, I’m a tight arse and know when I’ve been robbed of that precious VT🤣
Even in public matches I’ve picked up bricks after the tape, exfilled successfully and received everything. Sounds like a random bug, or some other contributing factors.
This was prior to patch 1.06: “Large Veritanium pickups are now instantly added to your currency instead of taking up an inventory slot.”
Before the bricks didn’t instantly give you 500, you had to extract with it just like the OWLF tapes. I assume players are only allowed 1 inventory slot, which would explain the issue you mentioned. So pre-1.06, you could only extract with 1 item, 1 stack of bricks or a tape. Luckily they’ve changed that.
