I’ve been having a lot of success with the Elder Sword. I never attack anyone head on, or run at them. I like to drop right next to or behind them and start attacking. Most of them just panic and try to run, if so I’ll just keep attacking, otherwise yeah I circle or zig zag to attack from the sides, or I’ll leap behind and get another hit. I don’t always go for a down, unless I’ve already hit them a few times and know I’m close. If I really want to push it I’ll try to pause or mix up intervals. Even a couple solid hits I feel good about. Then I’ll leap to a vantage point for a few bow or caster shots if they aren’t already looking at me.
I usually don’t have much trouble with parry, except certain insane fireteams that literally can’t be attacked, or snuck up on, and just snipe you from across the map. But I still don’t see why the fireteam has to be able to parry more than once or twice in a row. If you’re far enough from the team that you need more than one or two parries to stay up, I feel like your playing the game wrong.
