I just had my first game with a huge parrying problem. Two of the FT members would run right up to me while I was attacking to parry me over and over. I was able to take to of them down but when I would go for a quick claim the two same guys would run up and do the heavy attack with the knife and put me into second wind instantly. I talked to them in game chat and they said all they were doing was spamming the parry button and attack button. They were able to consistently deflect my hits and deal a lot of damage. Parry needs to change ASAP.
Parrying definitely NEEDS to change
It may well need some tweaks but after watching a high level predator he made the fair point that if you need to change up your tactic on the fly then you just do that. If they have guns out and it’s not all 4 of them together then get in there for some melees. If they switch to knives then you switch up to creating a bit of space and using stuff like plasma, net, combi throw.
They can run after you with knifes just as fast as the pred can run ,
Yeah I tried implementing that too but they were all recons so they were making quick work with their snipers on me cause I was a slow berserker.
Also they chased me down and caught up while I was trying to heal but good thing I was invisible cause they would’ve killed me If I was in second wind. They were kinda dumb when it came to that because there was a big pool of green blood under me and they were practically touching me.
Switching pred weapons even with the perk takes too long, meanwhile if you have 2 people shooting you already and you are trying to decide how to deal with the two rushing you in melee, switching weapons would second wind you, you only 2 options at this point is leap the 2 with guns and hope they dont switch to knives too, or retreat while soaking more damage and allow them to heal any damage you dealt already
I also forgot to include the fact I killed three of them and the last one revived the rest
Honestly, alot of the time i read these threads there seams to be a failure to ambush or wait for opportunity. if you come out of nowhere and land on a recons head as a berserker with a combi, hes done especially if you start from behind if he tries to parry after the 1st 2 hits just harpoon him. claim one skull quickly then leave. Spend time at start of match trying to guess where there objectives are going to be and deny health and ammo so they don’t have an unlimted supply. kill some piggs… you know don’t face charge them every time. you hit them once and they want to spam parry fine back off and amush them with plasma caster. better yet splash them with caster then leap in behind them now there down to 1st few hits from combi and don’t have time to spin and parry.
Edit: Push for a speed trophy claim really early it forces them to burn up there one reinforcement early on. if you get out without a chase a lot of times you can just go find a pig and not use upa health kit.
There is no need for FT to be separated at all, game doesn’t want it. So if guy separates from the rest its his fault, but blocking combistick from an alien 3x stronger than you with knife is hilarious for all wrong reasons, not to mention their speed and stamina. Now when I discovered that knife is stronger than plasma caster shot. I am wining on higher levels only attacking them when they call helicopter (I adapted). Only there they are profitable to attack and with range weapons only. No need to risk skirmishes with them early due to glitching in trees, broken cloak device and you can be heard from mile away, moronic clicking sounds he produce when nearby FT ETC. If that you call balanced or fun. Then OK.
I did that in the beginning when I nearly beat them. I wasn’t even attacking the guys doing it. When I would sneak up and attack someone else the other two guys would come for the parrying because the combi stick attacks mutiple targets
I mean when i say seperate i mean just brakeing line of sight even if just barely and fire team members do it all the time no there not going to go off to narnia but they will step around a corner 10 ft away looking for an ammo crate or med kit they check areas constantly for supplies, especialy if from the start of the game you start denying supplys from objective locations. Fire teams in states of famine are way easier to get to spread out a little.
They got revived so they got all their supplies back
So that’s why you don’t just run. You jump, leap, climb trees.
I hear a lot of complaints about snipers and if they’re a good shot then yeah I can see trying to snipe with the plasma caster as being tough.
Switching weapons does not take too long! You back off when you see that they’re going for the parry spam, switch weapon, get into a better position etc.
If you’re in that situation you describe you don’t get stubborn by staying to fight. If you need to back off you just back off and try to get into a better position for you and then try to make something happen. Both sides will have to adapt throughout the game.
They will need to do the objectives or they will eventually lose. This along with if the alarm is going can create some room for opportunities.
That sounds a great way to lose but hey your choice.
I absolutely believe the game is FT favoured right now and predator needs some help, or the FT need nerfs, but there are some things which come across as retarded initially until you realise there is some counter play. Doesn’t mean that stuff like knife parry spam is now A-ok but it’s definitely not as bad if you adapt and, for example, switch to ranged weapons.
Hence option 2- retreating and allowing them to fully heal any damage I may have incurred, you responded as though you didnt even read the post, there is no adapting when any damage I cause isnt carried over between engagements, they just heal to full hit ammo crates or bags and are back too 100%, the fireteam has way too many supplies, healing, ammo, gear restore, a predator cannot skirmish with the current ability of the fireteam to heal, you either get a claim or you wasted health
Just won 3 consecutive matches at extraction point with scout.
it needs to be melted down and destroyed
FT definitely have far too much healing. I hope no one would disagree with that. But if you really think it’s as simple as retreat and then they fully heal then that’s rather silly and you know it. In some instances they will reset and you’ll have to start over which is fine. Things don’t always workout 100% your way.
Sometimes however when you back off, a bit, there may be a chance to get some more damage in as they scramble to try and heal up.
Oh and stop claiming unless it’s almost 100% safe. All that does is allow them to deal damage. Back off and used ranged weaponry to kill them.
