Party + Matchmaking Question

Me and my mate just downloaded the game together and are having fun however seems to be one problem - we can only play together in a private match or be assigned to fire team in match making.

Since there’s 2 of us we’re limited on numbers and was expecting we could both jump into matchmaking together where one of us has a chance of becoming the predator. To my knowledge this doesn’t seem the case - if you’re matchmaking in a party you’re only going to be assigned to fire team is this right?

If this is true then that is a huge disappointment and oversight. I understand people could work together to rank up but really?? That just sounds stupid - I bought the game to play with my mate and remember in the beta this option was available.

Is there anyway to both matchmake together in a party the hope of one of us being Predator? This is called PREDATOR afterall. The pandemic situation is meant to bring people together not push them a part.

Nope, can’t party if you want to be Predator. Its to stop people trolling games etc by giving FT position away to pred friends or other stupid stuff like that. The only way to play with a friend and be on opposite sides is private match or extreme luck with matchmaking.

Yea that would be a terrible idea as it would quickly be abused. It’s the same reason why u can’t do that in Dead By Daylight.

Point understood for trolling but then that basically means everytime I play with my mate it means it’s only ‘fireteam hunting grounds’ which is a huge let down…do private matches at least let you have AI team mates so I can do a 1v1 with him essentially? Kinda does ruin playing with a friend and may just get a refund
