Patch Notes 2.49

This place became pessimistic and troll infested because of the lack of communication or action by IllFonic.
I should know of all people. I used to compile all of the current bugs and glitches into a list that I used to update daily, and especially after each patch. I worked with Papa_Applepie to hold a 1 year anniversary event because IllFonic wouldn’t.
Not a damn thing was done with any of that or any of the numerous other community projects and ideas people made back in the Glory Days of the forum.
They ain’t listening, and because of that people got angry, and because we figured out IllFonic doesn’t care, people just use this as a unmoderated quasi-social media site and mess with each other.

It’s sad, and I wish this game went to more active developers because it had a good playerbase and a hell of a lot of potential that’s been wasted.

If you did all that and are interested why didn’t you jump on their career site? Maybe getting into the company would actually make things work better and understand the overall architecture of the team and how things go in the company?

Because I’m currently a pre med student and work in a lab. I unfortunately don’t have the financial capacity to uproot my plans.

Plus I’ve got some serious medical concerns and don’t exactly know how much time I’ve got left, so I need to make the most of it.

I understand. :/

I really wish this game could have reached its full potential. Imagine how fun it would be.

All is not lost. Maybe if they give another shot for something like Predator Hunting Grounds 2 or a second installment they will do a better job…?

Maybe, however I’d be more in favor of another studio covering it. IllFonic doesn’t have the best track record for support, and I’d rather see a studio that’s already proven their worth and capacity do a PHG2.

I do think the base idea would be extremely successful and fun if it was executed properly, I just think IllFonic isn’t the studio for the job.

Yeah, it had potential and the community was great but too competitive maybe? Sometimes or lately when people get too competitive, is due to them thinking they are in the middle of a E-sports event and play for money when in fact no matter how pro someone is, one needs to think that the game is intended for fun eventually.

Too much toxicity from things like CS Go, DotA, fortnite, LOL or any other crap that is out there ruins the community to be honest.

Few times I had people going with simple fun, jumping on mic and having a laugh or a blast while playing. Enjoying and everything.

They would do a great job if they work or partner up with a better studio out there. There are plenty. Even from the Sony roster.

Jarate

a broken game since it went on sale, it is impossible for people to be nice, if there were more variability of weapons I would accept the dlc well, but they are also only broken skins, only predator skins and they do not correct errors, how can I be nice to that?

Insert troll rampage here

They rarely visit even their own forum lol.

Look at this shit hole for example.

I caught myself thinking that PHG was the first successful game after Evolve with asymmetric gameplay where this concept worked, which is still proven by strong online. I don’t know how big online of Ghostbusters is now, but the number of Ghostbusters streams on Twitch, after only 4 months after the release, has dropped to the number of PHG streams, which is 3 years old.
When other studios support and expand their successful projects over the years (Destiny, Overwatch), Ilfonic did not and do not appreciate the luck they got - a great franchise with a huge fan base. Definitely bigger than “Friday the 13th” and “Ghostbusters”. But for some reason they started making children’s acid Fornite and grabbing a new franchise (which game also became for kids), instead of polishing PHG, improving QOL, making the game friendlier for beginners and competitive for oldies, in order to hold and expand the playerbase who would buy all those skins and would bring income.
They had the ability to add custom modes to public queues and give players to create their own variations of matches, due to which Halo multiplayer existed for many years on its own, supported by the gaming community itself, which in the Forge was creating the most incredible modes from racing to basketball.
But “We don’t want to separate queues!”. We want 4 ft of 300lvl to connect with a predator that entered the game for the first time, and 3 ft of 1lvl against a 300lvl predator. We want newbies to suffer and leave the game, and oldies to leave the game out of boredom.
