PC Crash on first load.

Ive read numerous posts and everything seemed to point back to the first thread here.

While all of the posts are helpful my 7 year old son is a bit upset. Built him a new PC for christmas and bought this game for him today (he was a huge AvP fan). AvP toys were so damn expensive and he loves gaming so i was excited to get this for him. Game crashes when it tries to load the menu every time. . . on first load. There are no saved game files yet, and im getting frustrated. Any updates to this, ive read all of these posts and cant find a definite answer.

I appreciate that. Its super frustrating. Christmas was rough for our family but some clan members (my gaming community) donated an i7 47k and I got a 1070GTX recently so I used my old GTX980 in his machine. Was a pain in the ass but he couldn’t get online until I ordered a WiFi (wireless) adapter so he has been waiting on that to come, so we could download and install his games. The second it dropped I signed into his epic games acct and installed the game. . . . and BAM. He can’t play it. Poor little boy started crying because hes been waiting since xmas to play it. . . . I am super pissed. . . .

They on vacation till the 4th with a dlc coming February. (Will further break the game)

We are doomed.

LOL. Well, i installed it on my machine and had no issues. Also noticed his PC was still missing the Windows 1903 update for Win10. I will update whether the windows update fixes it or not. Thanks guys!

Just wanted to give an update. After a reinstall of the graphics drivers and windows update I actually got an ERROR when the game gets to the menu instead of a crash or restart.
The error is:
“DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine”
Meaning the game is unable to use Direct3D feature level 10.0. . . . which should not be a problem on a GTX 980. He can literally run BFV, Call Of Duty: MW and Cold War, and many other high level graphic games. Reinstalled DirectX and now I get a purple screen but no crash or restart. Any ideas?

Error log specifically says its unable to use the D3D device for some reason. Not sure what else I can try. Graphics card drivers are new, i double checked directx, no luck.

Just wanted to give an update. So my son launched Batman Arkham Knight from epic games tonight. Crashed at menu. After that we loaded PHG and it got to menu, but as soon as he did something it crashed. I do believe this may be related to something on my end in spite of all the issues with others, however a brand new PC with fresh drivers leaves me clueless. Any other ideas?
