PC Game Invites

New to the game and haven’t seen much reports on this issue. A buddy of mine recently purchased as well for his PC and when we go to invite one or the either we never receive the game invite notification. We have rebooted the game multiple times, reset our epic accounts, re-added each other on epic, reinstalled the game to no avail. After being defeated by our troubleshooting we move on to other games. Afterwards, we give it another go. He invites and I suddenly start receiving them. This has happened to us on multiple occasions. Today tho, I was unable to receive anything. This seems to be a very subtle bug as a small percentage of users seems to have this issue. I viewed multiple streamers play with friends, viewers, etc. to see that I’m not messing up with the invite process. Please Illfonic help me troubleshoot this

The friendlist and invite system are bottom line crap. They aren’t only bugged, it’s game breaking because you have to (hard) reset the game to make it work.

The design is borderline intuitive and adding and removing people from within the game isn’t even possible in the game. So if you find nice people, but they have one of those Elon Musk child-birth names? Good luck remembering those xXskullCru$er25Xx type of gamers. You likely won’t.

Yesterday I couldn’t play with this german dude about 30 minutes. We kept inviting each other, nothing. I could not connect to his lobby. Kept getting errors.

It’s bugged, and the Bugs-tab is quite filled for this title.

when you say hard reset what do you mean? I’ve rebooted the game plenty of times but not sure what the hard reset is.

If your phone isn’t working and you have to restart it, would you consider that a “bug” that breaks your phone? Can you use your phone while it isn’t working? Did that bug break your phone enough so you can’t use it.

Yes, no, yes.

Hard reset of software is a full shutdown and reboot. Forcing the game to close, to get it back up again.

You wan’t to play with friends, you add them to your friendlist. You see 14 friends online in that game, so you boot the game.

The game has started but only 3 friends show up online, the guy you added doesn’t exist, and the previous “bugfix” made sure that all your offline friends are invisible now as well.

Previously, if the friend-list bugged and they invited you, you could click on their “offline” name and accept the invite. But now, all those players are removed from said friendlist, so everyone has to keep restarting the game until everyone is in the lobby.

That is called, game breaking. You can’t play the game as it was originally designed. You have to restart the software, to make it work. (but even that isn’t 100% guaranteed)

This kind of stuff, it’s the first fully released title I’ve ever played with these many “basic” bugs as well. It’s almost like they had a playtest team of two people, who also created the game and forgot to push the game’s limits.

Some bugs are so easily found, you really gotta question yourself, who was in charge of playtesting?
