PC spec help

I just bought a new laptop and I know diddly squat about PC hardware, so I’m wondering if anybody can tell me if the specs of this new laptop will run this game noticeably better than a base ps4?

Specs are:

  • AMD RYZEN 7 4800H 8 Core Processor

-NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 (Max Performance Edition)

  • 16GB (8GB x 2 ) DDR4 3200MHz (Dual Channel)

Will there be any kind of night and day difference?

damn, oof course this will run better than the PS4.
These specs are much better than ps4. But it will still not run (stable) 60FPS on epic. If you want to have a good performance experience u should set most of the settings (like shadows and effects) on medium and also lower the view distance.Or just try it out!

I have this notebook Intel Core I7 9750H 16GB DDR4 16GB + GPU GTX 1650 Super and I can play this game with all the options for setting to EPIC except smoothing the edges, I prefer to leave it on medium or low.

If you still doubt your performance then I recommend you look at this comparison: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-9750H-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-4800H/m766364vsm1032976

With your laptop, you’ll be basically better off than my PC

Your specs look like more than enough.
I run it on a Razer Blade 17 with GTX 1060 and 16 GB RAM and get up to 70 FPS if I don’t crank all settings up to max.
You can make the performance even better with additional commandline Arguments in the Epic Options.
“-useallavailablecores” should work 100%, maybe even “-notexturestreaming”, but that depends on your GPU memory and will definitely increase loading times, but the FPS drops will get very rare.
You can use both commands with a space between them.
Using the Razer Game Booster gave me some additional FPS and stability, but similar programs are also useful.

to me it gave me additional FPS but made it much more unstable

I game on a laptop with

i7 8750h
16GB 2666 MHz
1050 Ti
NVME SSD

on medium settings

The difference is night and day compared to PS4.

I also have a desktop with

5600x (4.7GHz, watercooled)
16GB 3600MHz
RTX 3060 Ti
NVME SSD (Gen3)

And the difference is night and day compared to my laptop.

Ryzen 4800H is a good CPU, same with your GPU, you will notice the difference compared to PS4 for sure.

And prepare yourself to be called a cheater, 'cause only non cheaters play via PS4 at 20 fps.

This game is poorly optimized. Even with a GTX 3090 and a Ryzen 9 3900XT my best friend still gets around 90 FPS on average @1440P using Epic Settings.

I have a GTX 1070 Ti and unless I run everything on low, I don’t get 144 FPS @ 1440P… and it still dips to 50-60 from time to time. Everything on low and shadows on medium (so the game doesn’t look like crap) I get around 80 FPS with dips as low as 40 FPS.

Another friend has a 2080 Super and he gets around 80 fps with dips below 40 @1080P using Epic settings

Even the menu on this game is almost a benchmark. Is really frustrating

Compared to console, sure, the game will run 100 times better, but compared to other games the performance is shit

If your laptop has a display with a resolution higher than 1080P, I suggest you start by running the game in fullscreen mode instead of windowed fullscreen, and knock down the resolution to 1080. From there, adjust graphics settings starting with shadows and disabling motion blur and V-Sync. Do not set shadows to anything above medium. Is really not worth it. There is little to no visual impact from Medium to Cinematic, but the performance suffers a lot

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I’ll definitely try this game out on PC - but I might wait for a sale.

Considering the game runs at about 30 fps on my ps4 with some noticeable drops (particularly when leaping as a pred) I’d honestly just be thrilled to have the game running at a stable 30. So if I can get anything above that with improved graphics then that’s just the cherry on top lol.

You must have misremembered my specs, I have a RTX 2080 Super and a i7-8700k.
