I decided to perform a clean install of the game to see if it could maybe fix some of the performance issues.
I uninstalled the game, searched any SpaceFish and Predator Hunting Grounds files to make sure everything was deleted.
After installing the game again, nothing changed; the game still lags, stutters, and GPU remains underutilized.
I have not experienced such issues in any other games. Even way more demanding games like AC Valhalla, Cyberpunk, Warzone…run so smoothly, but PHG is so poorly optimized that I can’t even get a steady framerate and it seems worse after this last patch.
If I turn the graphics down to medium/high, I can get good performance and the game will run ok, but if I turn everything to epic graphics the GPU will remain underutilized and the framerate will drop to below 60fps with the GPU hovering around 60%.
I’ve tried everything in the NVIDIA control panel, command lines, but nothing so far has fixed this issue.
What’s the point of having the epic/cinematic graphics option if it’s unplayable even with powerful enough GPUs?
