Performance Issues

Just wondering if anyone else has a similar build to me and are having performance issues, no matter on what settings are used. I sometimes see dips down to 30ish FPS. I have found a sweet spot with everything on Medium expect shadows on High and i get probably an average of 100 FPS but still dips now and again.

the problem is overhead. having the game run at 100fps using 100% of the gpu usage for example means that when “something” happens your GPU is already at 100% so it cant do more.

The solution is to turn off vsync in game, but enable FAST sync in Nvidia ctrl pannel, limit the ingame FPS to 60/62 either ingame or using MSI AB/RTSS etc and set all details to EPIC, put AA on LOW. (AA low because it looks like dog shit smeared on a lense anything higher, most UE4 titles have the same issue. lower AA is better)

You will have a much smother overall experience but not as high a maximum framerate. Its the large changes that you notice and are really jaring and distacting. a change from 100 fps to 50 is a huge drop, but you will barely notice a change from 60 to 55 as the GPU now has headroom as its not trying to render at its maximum all the time.

the refresh rate of the monitor is irrelevant if you cant atleast maintain 144fps all the time. and in that resolution you cant.

If its a gsync monitor then that wont matter as it will lower the refresh to the current FPS.

Thats the problem, its not at 100% utilisation…ever. Even everything on Low, i still get dips when i am doing nothing.
I totally get where you are coming from but the game is badly optimised. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar issues with roughly the same build.

yeah i had a guy on the facebook forums in the same situation and that helped him a lot. worth a try.

yeah if its not using 100% GPU that doesnt neccesarily mean that its not doing as much as it can, it jsut means like you say the game cant fully utilise the hardware because it is unoptimised BUT, you can help that by making the game do less by trying to stop it outputting tons of frames (limit to 60). in a game where the game is the limiting factor sometimes turning down details and trying to push more frames is counter productive. try what i said and if its still shit you can alsways go back.

good luck

Randomly a player on the fire team would start making random gun fire noises for the entire match and it leads the predator to the fire team

Hey everyone, Im having this issue where at the beginning of each match the gun runs perfectly but after the first couple minutes. my game then seems to drop frames. it feels really choppy and even worse when there are a lot of AI people and the predator near me.

my rig: (laptop)
GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q Design
Intel i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60Ghz
15.81 GB RAM
1920x1080, 60 Hz

does anyone know how to fix this?

check power options. check nvidia control panel is set to performance not ballance or battery save. close all unused apps, make sure the PC is cool so it dont thermal throttle.

I had an AMD Ryzen 3700x, an AMD RX 5700 XT and 16Gb of 3000Mhz RAM.

The game cannot use my entire GPU, It’s stays about 70% and barely uses 60% of my GPU when I’m streaming, causing the FPS an average of 40.

None of graphics settings can change the FPS, because when I crank up everything, the average use of GPU get increased (but stays on 40 FPS). When I decrease graphics, the average use of GPU drops to 30% end the FPS remains on average 40.

Please FIX it.

We know UE4 is developed on Nvidia hardware. But this isn’t fare on the RED team. Even PS4 uses an AMD hardware an the PS$ have some graphical issues two. But this isn’t an excuse to create a sluggish game

Same here. Big FPS DROP.

Hello, Ryzen 9 5900X + RTX3080Ti, 240hz monitor, 1080p, GPU usage - 60 - 70%.
FPS drop to 50 sometimes. It’s really terrible.

My build is lower than that and i run the game with 40/50/60 fps on epic settings.
