Even if he was elected, the party probably controlled most of the media (was there any real opposition to the Nazis?) People were brainwashed or wanted to believe in a strong Germany again. I don’t think it would have been a fair election anyway.

Not the point tho. Communist just doesn’t work on large scale, so whatever faults there are with capitalism, it’s still by far a better system.

After the Reichstag Fire Decree any and all elections in Germany were literally a formality. Hitler banned two parties that were actually able to compete with NSDAP that was steadily loosing votes, because the effects of the Great Depression that initially helped Nazis gain popularity were steadily declining. So no, he was not “elected”, unless rigged elections that were a result of political conspiracy and a terror campaign are legitimate in your worldview.
