PETITION FIX vs CONTENT

As the title says. I’m thinking if we had more of a congested bunch of answers for Illfonic to get a good bit of feedback from us in a way of a petition on whether we want Illfonic to “Fix” the game as priority or give us “content” as priority.

So if you want to put in your 2 cents just comment below with a simple “fix” or “content” to see how many people in this forum want one vs the other. Personally I think the games very many game breaking bugs should be priority.
So I choose “Fix”

Edit: This was my first game after like almost three weeks of not playing. It was full of bugs hindering me in every way. I can’t believe this stuff still exists in game!

The content we have now was in the works before launch they didn’t actually get arnie done in a month lol it’s just being released on a set schedule.
There are different teams working on different things and have their own deadlines. You don’t put the sound design guy in charge of fixing the code the same way you don’t give the art team or mappers 3 weeks off while two guys fix weapon bugs.

The only time OP’s statement would ever even apply is in a studio with 3 people w/ the same skill sets

or if they had a change in management, put OP in charge & just fired everyone and started training coders from the ground up as an elaborate form of suicide due to the time it would take to working backwards

Watched the video and am confused about what was wrong or needs addressing… Just asking

I don’t even go near that anymore… happened to me twice… at least i didn’t die.

The first bit of video was fine. Later on it was clearly messing me up. It was auto claiming and auto eating pigs and when I was stuck in that glitch to where you attack after every leap or jump depending on what you have equipped.

@Djshizz ok I get I now… I really couldn’t tell from the video, but totally understand it. Thanks for giving me a civil answer… I appreciate that

This was just simply a way to get certain information to the devs, they obviously have to do whatever they need with said information themselves so I can’t control that. I find it not likely they’re going to one team or one group of development and put it there, I mean I guess this is something I can put in the feedback part of the forum. But this post is merited in my opinion

Edit: with that being said. As a team or company they shouldn’t take on more than they can handle. If they had all this stuff planned before launch, fine. But don’t ignore the community getting testy when you break your own game and instead of fixing it they pump out content. Content is critical I am very aware, but even more so is a fully functional game bud

@Djshizz despite the problems … Game well played on your part…

Thanks man. Appreciate the honest response

The best thing unhappy players can do to show illfonic they want change is to not play. Real talk.

Game’s that aren’t designed by one person do both. My point is they can’t just tell people to stop doing their job and wait for someone else to finish theirs first however long that takes. That’s pointless. It’s illfonic’s lack of talent making one patch break something else yes but telling the mappers to stop making maps or the art designers to stop working on preds and go on a smoke break until a claim bug is fixed doesn’t make sense. One has nothing to do with the other.

Different teams do different things. Some do more than one department or function but they work on what they can. It isn’t a one or the other proposition, fixed and content are both being worked one.

Personally I very much look forward to what the new mode holds and wouldn’t want them to stop working on either that or the maps under construction.

But I’m not telling them to drop whatever they’re doing bud 😂 that’s why community feedback exists, so that the community can drive the appropriate team or development in the right direction based on player support. No individual and especially not me is telling them what to do. Games have always thrived when player communities and game development have communicated with eachother directly or through forums. That’s exactly why it exists. I see what you saying man, I really do! But saying that my opinion and that of others regarding feedback in this subject has no point than why are we all even here then? Seems counter intuitive don’t you think?

???

One or the other = not both

?

Then it all boils down to needing a bigger team when taking on bigger more ambitious projects and boils down to taking on too much than they can handle. It’s not exclusive to Illfonic, this happens all the time but that’s why I’m saying this. Because it happens too much.

Maybe even “Petition” could’ve been a miss use. Maybe more of a “preference content vs fix”? Would that suffice?

Talent > team size

Both are ideal but Illfonic has neither no offense illfonic. Other than the guy rigging the pred model who supposedly did some outsourced work on Evolve. Game’s already made though too late to go expanding, maybe get someone to work on this god awful AI I see they’re looking for programmer hires atm. Code itself and the ridiculous bugs within are a small man job and hiring more people means teaching those people, which means working backwards without neccessarily even fixing the problem.

The answer is still both since doing one doesnt get the other done faster lol
