Do we really want a tournament thats a copy of a broken game?
Especially in a competitive competition?
One of the things we wanted to do with this tournament was fix the problems inherent to the game to improve it.
IDK how āEliteā I am but sure why not Iāll give it a shot š although I would probably only be able to participate on the 14th as I work Saturday and Sunday unfortunately.
Question tho, if Specs are disabled and so are damage perks is it really needed to ban dithered lense as well? I understand that in conjunction with downrange and disciplined for instance that it could be a problem to balance around for Tournament sake but just by it self it doesnāt seem that bad especially taking all of the other balance into account on your list.
Every weapon capable of one shotting has some sort of downside.
Combistick has one ammo, smart disk is avoidable and destructible, bows require a headshot, and the plasma caster has the Lazers.
It also comes down to the benefits. Bows allow you to be stealthy, combi blinds and pierces, smart disk can take multiple targets from behind cover, and the plasma caster has the best ammo and the only one shot weapon to have an AOE.
Even without dithered and reduced AOE itās still a beast

So if the game is broken, what makes you think that with all of those conditions the tournament wonāt be broken as well?
Answer me with a valid argument, donāt tell me that you and some 3 or 4 other guys tried it on a few private matches and thought this might work.
It might be.
But the more players we get the more matches we have to review and look at balance allowing us to further tweek settings down the road until it isnāt broken.
Either way what we get is better than doing nothing.

The thing is that those tests and experiments and try outs should be done BEFORE a tournament, not DURING.
They are done before a tourny. We just realize that those tests arenāt perfect and are looking closely at the tournament for more realistic data.
With a list of bans that long, I guess I donāt have to be sad Iām traveling this week.
Just ban the SAWZ50, Yautja Bow, and Field Medic and Iām sure youāll have fun games to play and watch. You all are banning over half the game.
If I am the host, then the ping will be for the squad, and 250 on the squad is good.
I agree, Predator should always host because 100 ping is very hard to manage as Predator. As fire team itās not nearly as hard.
A. The bow isnāt even banned so we wouldnāt
B. People commonly complain about stat perks so theyāre banned on certain classes.
C. The reason why the list is so long is because certain perks are class base so the majority of the list are repeats. So actually the mast majority of the game is still in.
D. Itās more than just fun itās about balance and improving the gameplay.
I get it. It just seems so overly restrictive and people like to play in their own way, and the only major outliers in my opinion are the items and specialization I mentioned. Most everything else is actually close to ābalancedā because of limitations on perk points.
I hope the tournament does well and creates excitement for the player base.
The specializations are banned because we donāt have enough time to test pred specializations. Next tourney they will be allowed though.
True but for Recon you basically donāt have to worry about a cost and with assault and Dante cost does matter but fitting in some of the stronger items are completely manageable and we didnāt want the tourney to be bloated with a single meta.
I think tournaments are a good opportunity to find META tactics. The SAWZ50, Yautja Bow, and Field Medic have already been proven to be META.
I would like to know what most players would pick of those three items werenāt available.
Also, why ban Valkyrie? There is no way that she is OP after just getting nerfed hard.

Another Tournament that will be canceled
That was a decision made pre patch and we were focused on other aspects of the tournament to review Valk (though it was on the list) that it was too late to make any meaningful changes since we donāt want changes coming in a week ahead of time.
