Plasma Cannon is too weak!!!

Im a predator main and tbh Im glad they did this, now I have to fight for even one kill, which means I have to toy with the fireteam far more, Which in turn extends the match significantly. That being said playing as scout today I have wiped every… single… fireteam. Bow/netgun, I dont use the plasmacaster much unless they are in a building together where the splash + the lack of need to pick up arrows, is much more usefull. I also run motion detectors with medkit, and my perks are adrenal boost, down range, and long jump. High mobility, Lots of poke, and not afraid to take a few hits to drop 4 arrows into someone thats downed and secure the kill. Down range in fairness though could be traded for literally anything else, I have played with and without down range and at this point it feels like a massive placebo and doesnt actually do anything significant.

I counted on a game a couple hours ago and it took 8 direct hits with uncharged plasma cannon to kill a downed fireteam member.

It should take longer to revive an opponent than it takes to fully charge the cannon if they are going to nerf it imo

Not to mention, this is the first day, since day one that ive been able to play scout and be even remotely confident in my plays.

I would appreciate if revive times were slightly longer. But the trade off should be that it pauses the bleed out on that teamate while you are reviving. Because last time I played FT It was a race between whether the revive or the bleed out would happen first if done too late.

Yeah you want to use a fully charged arrow for that. and then maybe 1 uncharged depending how long they been bleeding out

I have killed downed fireteam members with 4 uncharged arrows. Could have been that he was running a perk to slow bleedout. Might have effected it.

As for the plasma caster, I have killed them in roughly 3 half charged shots at times. Its too inconsistent for me to really comment on right now though.

Probably hit em with the bow then plasma bolts idk still trying out different methods even bear traps are good set up tools if the opportunity presents itself

Another thing I can say as a pred main, With the pigs being more consistent, as well as the confidence I now have playing as pred, I no longer have any issue with the reinforcement mechanic. In fact I like it now, because it extends the game, and I dont ever feel like I am completely fucked in terms of pigs. Thats the beautiful balance of the pred and pigs, I have to (usually) go out of my way and waste time to get to pigs ive already killed, or find new ones. Time is the fireteams greatest resource against pred, because the more they can force him to waste time, the more chance they have to survive, or even kill him.

same, id even argue pigs give a bit too much health… now u can find them

I think they are far too inconsistent still to nerf significantly, but they are much better when they do spawn. I have had a few games today though where I was having more trouble finding them than others. But if they can make pigs more consistent, then I am all for nerfing the health they give (especially since alot of times 4 of them spawn together and you can wipe them out pretty quick now because of the health reduction)

I played all day before posting comments the plasma cannon is useless now they side step back and fourth like battlefield snipers an can hit you the whole time its broken and considering they didnt even address the other break its pretty bad patch.

I think that a group of them needs to guranteed spawn at the beginning of each match. Then throughout the match more groups can spawn like they do. but right now with none of them spawning at the beginning, sometimes rng causes them to just not spawn at all, or only one or two will spawn. That would probably make them consistent enough, then you could make it so that one pig heals half pred health, so you have to kill 2 for full health, that would be fair enough, as its more time wasted.

Its not useless. The problem is that most people are running syringes so they are healing immediately after being shot and before you can hit them again hard. But once you burn out their syringes, there is nothing they can do against the plasma cannon. Its simply a game of attrition, and with the pigs now, a good pred will win that battle more times than not.

Charged shot is the opening shot and should be done from a concealed position ,do not aim at them while it charges, then just as it fires put it on them! BOOM. as far as they know it cam from nowhere!

Nah spawn I can understand what hes saying, alot of players still jiggle whether or not you are visible, because they know that standing still is a mistake. The thing that would make this a little easier on pred honestly, would be to increase the aoe splash range on the plasma caster a bit. that would make charged shots more consistent, if you arent hitting them directly.

They allways see you and no ,now i use charged shot first shot if i cant reposistion for whatever reason being rushed whatever i use uncharged and they are easy to side step the plasma cannon was only good before these changes im not gonna get into the git gud debate trust me im gud enough to know im right on this

I mean yeah, if its not gonna insta kill anymore, it should at least be guranteed that if you land the shot within a decent amount of space from the target, that they will get hit by that full force of the shot. The damage itself should stay the same. Regardless of direct or indirect hits. I dont think that would throw the plasma caster out of balance, but for non pc players it will defo make it quite a bit more consistent.
