The Plasma Caster is currently one of the few viable options a Predator has to take on a somewhat competent Fireteam. It is already hard to use effectively due to how loud and visible it is, not to mention the travel time of the massive projectiles. But add in the fact that invisible geometry, leaves, twigs and other such minor obstacles cause it to quite literally blow up in your face, and you have a weapon that is more of a hindrance to you than the enemy.
The Fireteam can shred through the jungle with their bullets, but the caster can’t come anywhere near the smallest branch without blowing up and alerting everyone who missed the huge red laser. Hell, said laser is also incredibly deceitful, since I’ve had shots veer off clear and away from the area being targeted. Even better, some shots will seem clear due to the laser shining towards my target, only to them explode against a tree that was a good two feet from the plasma bolt.
The collision detection of this weapon needs a fix urgently. It’s not even about balance at this point, just merely the ability to play properly.
