the game being so pessimistic, I wouldn’t be surprised if people can cheat and they don’t even realize it

Indeed. I faced such situations 2 or 3 times (lvl 55 right now), and everytime that was a PC player.
I’m not sure if we have dedicated servers or peer-to-peer system? Somebody knows? Because if it’s p2p (and I think it is, because my ping is very different from game to game), it’s a heaven for cheaters/hackers. I know what I’m talking about, because I had a bad experience playin For Honor at launch, when it was p2p. Great amount of hackers. But when Ubi added dedicated servers, the situation changes dramatically :)
