First of all, if you play the Predator and want to play against Fireteam bots, piss off. That’s not the reason why bots were implemented.
Fireteam bots are there to assist a Fireteam player when someone either rage quits, disconnects or you end up in a lobby where people cannot join or flat out leave before the match starts. They will follow you, protect you and help you survive the match.
Behavior
Mudding up - Bots are always semi-mudded, sort of like running the ice cold perk. They will mudup when you do, so you need to guide them.
Attacking enemies - As of now they seem to attack enemies within their viewing distance. They will aim at a cloaked Predator but will not shoot unless it is uncloaked. They will also use their main weapon only.
Movement - They will walk behind you and follow you everywhere. If you stand still, so will them. They also don’t jump, so beware of climbing hills and buildings, they will not follow you and might even get stuck.
Interaction - Bots don’t interact with anything except: bear traps, netgun and downed allies. They will throw one ammo bag when you are very low on ammo. They will not throw health until you have very low health and you have used your syrettes and medkits, if you carry any.
Damage - They deal a lot of damage to the pred, but are highly susceptible to ranged and cloaked attacks. They are highly efficient against a melee rusher who wants to take on the full team without wearing them down first, but otherwise any Predator will take them down with ease using any ranged weapon.
Strategy
As Fireteam your goal is to use yourself as bait and keep the pressure on the Predator. Do not try to use the bots as bait. They are not good bait. They will die quickly. Instead try to use a fast class that can quickly move away from them enough so the Predator engages on you alone. After you die, you will respawn in one of the bots and continue your onslaught.
As Predator, carefully with range attacks focus your fire on the bots and ignore the player. If you do manage to down the player, do not quick claim and instead wait for the bots to come to assist the player. They will hopelessly try to revive a downed teammate and this is your chance to take them out one by one. Do not under any circumstances try to engage melee on all of them. You will die in 2 seconds, guaranteed.
As a side note, when you are playing with a full squad of bots, if either one of the bots or you die, the reinforcement mission is activated immediately. Not sure if is a bug or intended to be that way.
