It’s my request to all newbies. DO NOT GO MELEE ! It’s not working. I mostly play fireteam and it’s too easy to shot predator with your teammates in close range. Even if you’re lucky and you kill somebody you’ll most likely lose all your HP and second wind and next time when you go melee you will die. Try to pressure fire team with plasma caster, if you unlock bow, then use it, it has good damage (53 uncharged, 70 fully charged, 93 head shot uncharged). If they in the room use smart disk to damage them. Go melee only if FT devoted or it has few hp. And don’t forget to use leap slam if they are very close to each other.
Please, don't go melee as predator
Im use mainly melee. Its fine. Its all depend on your style. BTW snipers can counter play your range. There no absolute tactics. Combine this smart.

lore code demands I go melee, I will continue to butcher humanity with my hands, PC, and spear. The Lore Clan will not resort to such shameful means, especially when our “smart disks” are made in China and can be destroyed by human bullets

Why predator have evade melee? His spear swings passing trought the wall. Good predator - good glitch user. :D
Melee is a perfectly fine way to play. Why else would four out of your six additional weapons be melee-oriented if it wasn’t? Hell, that even seems to be Berserker’s purpose due to its lower stamina and energy and increased health and damage. The key is knowing when to use it as meleeing at the wrong time can quickly result in your death.
how do you want them to get better at it if they dont use it. keep using melee -> get better at melee -> melee is good. you are right though knowledge of situational melee is important and that comes with using it.
Maybe if they didn’t nerf the plasmacaster. I used to hunt at distance with that as my main weapon. Funnily enough just like the original predator in the movie. The bow is too weak and obviously has no splash damage, a headshot shoulde down anyone. The handheld plasmacaster seems to be some kind of predator kids toy and my dead grandmother could outrun the disc.
Don’t get me wrong I’m adapting. But sometimes it’s frustrating being spam spotted and people spraying bullets all around and it’s very tempting to just leap in and combi stick them all.

Screw this. New players: Use the leap smash ability and slam that roof to get those cockroaches out of there.
Melee is fine but you have to use it in the right place. Charge in and try to get a down when they’re full health? Dead. Even if they’re weakened, if everyone else is there then you will probably take far too much damage.
