There’s videos out there with millions of views talking about how the microtransactions in that game aren’t even worth buying since you can earn money so fast just naturally playing the game everyday right now through heists, businesses, missions, etc.
The only people buying microtransactions in that game right now are people that aren’t even going to stay on the game for more than a few days, and the system has drove dedicated players away.
a stable playerbase with $5 dlc packs every other month is wayyyy better than having an unhappy fanbase, just look at Dead by Daylight, they’re at the point were they’re forced to suck up to new players because the game has gotten extremely greedy with their microtransactions like you’re suggesting here.
Yes there should be balance in those microtransactions, you can’t make the game model / gameplay be made that forces you to buy microtransactions more. It should only be an optional thing for things that do not impact gameplay in any way.
In my opinion for example the DLC’s that come out for PhG should be free, all the Predator classes should be level locked instead and unlocked by gameplay only, however continue adding more and more cosmetics (the options are pretty much endless) which do not impact gameplay but can be bought straight away with real money if you wish or you can grind for them through gameplay, but the grind must not be done in a way that forces you more towards buying the things with real money… Like the RNG crate system that gives you duplicates 99% of the time, I find that percentage unfair, duplicate rate should be 50/50 or even less.
Honestly, I’ve thought about it now and it’s fine if they keep JH to pre order only, but im currently trying to find someone that has a PC code or an account they would be willing to sell. If there was a way to bold the sentence above I would lol.
if the crates give you duplicates doesn’t that make it easier to “grind” the game since you’re getting more VT than you usually would for just playing the game? it’s not like VT is even hard to come across in the first place through naturally playing the game, since most items are only 7500 VT or less and you can earn that in about 30 minutes of playing FT while collecting the shards and bricks when you come across them. what’s the point of buying something if you can just earn it in a few minutes of standard gameplay?

I think keeping the JH class a pre order only is a mistake because it is a class, not a cosmetic, so it should be level locked instead, for example lvl 200 or 300 or whatever Illfonic wishes you unlock JH. Cosmetics as I said can be bought instantly (optionally if you wish) with real money.

The point is having options for people who wish to buy, because there are plenty of people who wish to do so. The gaming world community shows that obviously with other games. And there are other reasons I have already mentioned and not mentioned as well… For example I only play Predator, that’s how I enjoy the game the most so it’s not easy to collect in game currency with Predator because you literally can’t pick it up. I would have to play FT which is not fun for me, especially if you don’t have a well premade good FT.

Then it counts as a cosmetic or a variant of an existing class / item, so that means it should be available through in game currency that you can earn through game or buy via microtransactions.
