It affects me, because it affects the type of progression the Devs want for this game. They want you to be able to accumulate the VT, and buy the stuff you want and call that progress along with Leveling Up and earning Gameplay stuff that way. You can call it a leveling experience or a grind, it is what it is.
How specifically it affects me is that if this Microtransaction bullshit were to be the case, with what you are proposing, would basically be telling other players who like to play the game and earn the items they get that:
“Hey, dumbfuck, why do you spend so much time playing the game when you can be like @CrippledIcarus and pay to get the same amount of progression that they do? All for some money?”
It will affect my gameplay and fun, and enjoyment of the game if it incorporates predatory practices such as this, becoming more like a Gacha Simulator or WOW, as you have mentioned earlier, seem very indifferent about and would definitely get called the problem over there as well. When you can just pay money to “enjoy more” at the cost of people who genuinely enjoy the game’s content and aren’t spoon fed shit because they gave more money for mundane shit, such as more VT or more Field Lockers. A Player could be able to just buy more VT than one would be able to earn, making them feel like dumbfucks for even trying.
So actually, it doesn’t matter if the Microtransactions are forced onto the players or Optional. The Effects it has the overall gameplay for everyone sure isn’t “optional”.

Tell me again how do cosmetic items (that give 0 gameplay bonuses) impact your gameplay mechanics experience? Do you get beaten more because someone has a certain cosmetic you don’t for example?
