Pls, illfonic, hear your community

Come on folks, calm down…

Take into account, that two opinions, which seem to be quite the opposite, in the end nevertheless can be true at the same time - if you add some details resp. constraints.

The fire team might be overpowered for teams of experts, who know each other well (e.g. because they practise together regularly) and stick together while the fire team might be underpowered for a bunch of newbies, who all play their own game for themselves. And the predator level also plays some role in this calculation…

If all fire team mates are PS4 and the predator is PC the balance according to my observation is completely different compared to when the fire team all are PC players and the predator is PS4 - too. And so on…

I for example basically love sniper-ing; being a PS4 player I discarded that (after trying it for two weeks very hard:) - aiming is too slow and imprecise with a controller - if you play against capable predators, from my POV.

So I changed my style to the general hurry-scurry-shoot-out style - using a GOSL instead - I immediately tripled my average damage to the predator. But I still sometimes lose without any chance. So at least I am far from being overpowered…

So, balance not only depends on skill level, but on style too. And so on and so on. It is quite hard to please everybody - if not impossible…

Certainly it is a pity, that the game has already discouraged me from playing predator or sniper - and I e.g. definitely dream of a PS4-aim-assist - and I think it is fair to mention things like this in this forum, but in the end my game statistics is still relatively even. So at least I cannot complain too loudly…

Anyway, I think there is truth in nearly every preceding post (at least in those I read) - if you try to understand the POV of the person who wrote it - who might have forgotten to add some details - alike which hardware, which skill level, which wepaons, which style, which anything…

In any case there is no sense in being rude to each other.

I guess you all are nice guys, so let’s enjoy this together -Amen :)

I hate the predator he is so damn weak, as a berserker I’m constantly chasing and slashing people who should already be dead, I’m using perks to increase my melee damage and increase my health but nah illfonic has to cater to the fireteam crybabies who whine when they can’t take on a predator in a 1v1 scenario. And most of the time when my team loses its because everyone is separated doing their own thing instead of working together

Well said my friend. It is impossible to balance a 4v1 game. I mean 4v1 says it all…

Balance also comes with time which 4 months is still young for a game like this.

How about a Predator cloak DEF boost similar to the mud up on Dutch87. That may help. An all around DEF boost to Pred is needed imo, but the cloak idea isn’t bad.

Cloak needs rework, from a longer distance you shouldn’t be able to see it from closer it can be easier, and lower the clicking frequeny again, and will be getting somewhere.

And by a buff I mean its utility, cause compared to ft pred has no tech which it should have alot more of.

Well, thanks for your oppinion and i glad you weren’t rude. But i wouldn’t complain about balance if Predator styles wasn’t broken. I prefer “stealthy” style like in first film, but in practise this style not working. Predator cloak now is useless and i send screenshot why. In most situations this invisibility is useless. But on FT styles you can play any style. Choose what you like. On Predator only 1 in my mind is playable:Monkey Predator with jumping around FT because it’s more harder to hit you(but it’s also harder because of optimization x)). There is 3(maybe 4 if include scout) classes can play with this style(Maybe Elder. idk). Berserker and Samurai are useless and they are just peace of meat. If illfonic change parry stat(Parry for my oppinion, must cost 1 hit from Pred and take all stamina, and for start of stamina regeneration it neeed 8-15 seconds cooldown)
and rework invisibility, most of all(or all) playstyles on Pred would be alive and victory will depends on skill(and teamwork on FT). And nerf Yautjas Bane. With this perk Damage is insane

I know what you mean; for me the problem with playing “stealthy” or “sniper” style is the omnipresent rush in the game. The fire team seldom stays long enough at one place to take your time to sneak, search for a good spot, scout the behavior of the enemy and so on. If I am ready to attack, all people are gone to the next mission part already…

So, yes, the game does not allow to play all possible styles with equal fun/success. And as I said before: what the predator has to offer yet, does not attract me - I go with the fire team instead, bustling around like hell (although I normally are not a bustler:)…

One more thing: the “cloak” in your screen shot is really no cloak at all - but the predator likely was moving full speed then right (and immediately in front of you, so maybe, one should see him good then)?

Nevertheless, my impression is, that the cloaking thing differs strongly between the different systems.

I (PS4) often have problems to spot the predator when my friend (PC) at the same time has none. I am still trying to find out ALL reasons for that :) Some already are clear: 30 vs 60 FPS, blurring vs no blurring, TV vs monitor, distance from screen and certainly game experience too… So in the end this topic might also be categorized under “cross platform differences” mainly…?

Was this screenshot on a PC?

Yep, on Epic quality. My friends who have PS4 and PC said there is no differense. Maybe because sensativity in controller and mouse has MUCH differense. And there is another one. This is easy to spot too

And in practice saw them is much easier

I never complete the objectives anyway. I’m a 150, I don’t need the exp so yeah I go straight for the kill. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. It really depends on the rest of your ft. It’s mostly why I hate playing with random FTs because most of the time I get noobs🤦 They have made it where you can do your stuff in private now but again I have seen some awesome Predators that make me rage lol and I’ve seen some shit ones. The shit Predators leave the second you down them like come on what’s the point in that? But their is also FTs that do that too or they wait till you can reinforce them.

I leave if my bomb is defused, im 150 so I rather find another match then watch the ft.

I totally get that tho.

I wish they would add option that you could leave at that point and not get penilzed, cause I know it sucks to watch especially if there endlessly knifing your corpse or tea bagging.

I’m guilty of teabagging lol so I know your pain all too well. Sometimes I don’t do it but it just comes naturally since I play Friday.

I don’t count as “Awesome” Preds who jumping around you etc. Just if they won on Berserk against good team, they are awesome for me in this Patch

The ones that jump around need ADHD meds and We fought a Predator last night who cloaked and took us out one by one with arrows and slams. He let us reinforce then did it all over again.

Hey thats how I like to play jumping around like jack rabbit lol, I would play Berserker but its suicide to play it anymore.

Well, typical “Monkey” Pred who can get shoted by SAWZ-50 with Yaujtas Bane now
