You recently kicked ass without me, and you called them cheaters as well. You’re all cheaters. Mouse and keyboard are an exploit. You call PS players cheaters. You’re just hilarious. 🤣
By the way, where is your joystick video?
Post YOUR videos!
Of course having a constant DPI isn’t cheating, Einstein. This game caps disc movement at 40% of adjusted mouse sensitivity. Sure, you can crank DPI up to 20,000 and lower your overall sensitivity to avoid insane turning speed, but that lowers disc sensitivity too, since it’s always capped at 40% of your base turning sensitivity.
The DPI switch lets you temporarily boost turning speed by +1000% (10× faster) specifically for disc control. It counts as cheating because the game itself caps disc speed at 40%.
Already knew this shithead at least mouse sensitivity affects flight turning, not only that but probably even mentioned 3 years ago even 4 did you even read
Turning speed cap might be beneficial but from you specifically it needs to be looked into again as you pretty much have a bunch of botched information in the past when it comes to this
Crazy timing too, I just picked up one of the most shit tier mouse I could find to show testing for this
So, let’s break it down.
1) You use a lot of ad hominem arguments — you’re good with tech, but a bit less with the art of debating. Anyway, I’ve got no reason to doubt your story, even if honestly I don’t remember it. If it happened in a voice chat, well, I’ve got to admit my spoken English isn’t that great, and I can’t always translate exactly what I mean. In Italian we’ve got six or seven different words with subtle shades of meaning, while in English it’s basically just “cheat,” which kind of flattens everything out. The day you make the effort to speak my language, I’ll definitely be very forgiving about semantic mistakes.
2) I agree that changing DPI with a mouse button could be the real line between an optimized disc and a cheating disc. Without switching DPI on the fly, you’d be stuck at a DPI that’s too low to pull off the deadly moves that make it broken.
3) You actually brought up something really interesting, something I’ve been thinking about for a while: PHG is so unbalanced that Pred mains feel kind of morally justified in using every possible trick to try to close the gap. That’s where all the problems started, and it’s still the same today. Somehow, those brave few who still play Pred in privates feel legit using anything, without even seeing themselves as dishonest. -And let me say it for the fifth time: I’m mainly talking about the players I’ve RECENTLY played with in private matches - In their minds, they’re just counterbalancing the situation. It’s a bit like Death Wish — instead of calling the cops, you take justice into your own hands. Psychologically, it makes sense. Ethically, it’s wrong. And in a way, I don’t even blame them.
That’s why I keep saying: we should just use the tools Illfonic gave us — the customizable settings. The real mystery is why nobody actually uses them. But hey, gamers are a weird bunch.
You forget that we did that, way back when the option was released, together will Arrow Calis and Scarface, and so on…
We tried everything out, found some reasonable stuff to change, and then never used it again.
That’s fair
I will say there’s some much needed caution to take with the discussion of cheating because overwhelmingly there is much more information now than ever before
So I guess without trying to drill too many holes in arguments I feel that maybe some additional caution should be taken into account given that we understand security concerns a little bit better now and possibly need to go over our own history as a whole
I even have some things I would like to bring up too that I even find disturbing
In terms of terminology as definitions for people like Beer who google stuff from dictionaries, yes, but in terms of gaming policy it’s not cheating. It’s simply better gaming mouse, as long as it doesn’t involve macro software. If it behaves weirdly that is just game issue, but not the player’s issue. If we have to use that type of argument, then 90% of the Counter Strike players would be all banned, Call of Duty and you name it. And then all of those games would be permanently dead and gaming companies would bomb from mass banning it’s playerbase. And when it comes to gaming of the ‘‘cheating’’ term textbook definition mean nothing as long as it sticks to the POLICY itself. Just like there are many diferent definitions in the very legal system itself that are completely separated than dictionary definitions, same goes in gaming world.
It means nothing, because option limit are not option RULES.
Dude, if you went to court trying to argue that the hi-DPI disc ain’t cheating, you’d lose the case and end up paying compensation to the State for wasting the judges’ time 😏. Maybe this analogy helps: imagine in PAC-MAN you could use a mouse function to boost your speed by 200%. Not a cheat, right? Come on, let’s be serious here. And anyway, in Counter-Strike they ban thousands of players every single day for stuff way less shady than this, just look at the stats.
Court would throw it out due to common sense precedence. It’s in the game. The game allows it. The game has settings to encourage it. Yet you’re going to argue its cheating while running recon tracker 24/7.
OK.
You do you, boo. There’s a reason I dodge you and psycho, you aren’t worth playing. You’re good, sure. But you aren’t fun to play. Hell, at least when I’m playing Sam and beer I actually get something out of it. (It’s called ‘fun’)
Read my comments again, I wasn’t talking about the court, I just gave example about certain stuff as example that not everything in the textbook definition is same as policy inside the game or for example law in certain scenarios. Nothing about the court and law that I mention was related with gaming, it was just related with textbook definitions anecdote, because DPI is not illegal in the court of law, I am talking about the specific scenario about gaming platforms and developers of the game that implement the policy and rule of what is category of cheating or what is not. As for your scenario about PAC MAN, it’s not multiplayer game. And not related with multiplayer scenario, so in that case everybody can interpret it as ever they want.
It is pointless discussion. Cheaters always know what they’re doing, but when called out they hide behind a fortress of excuses, bending reality just enough to protect their fragile egos. The game has an intentional +40% cap on disc movement sensitivity, you even show them the settings screenshot, they know the DPI switch is external to the game… yet in the very next comment they’ll insist the game allows it, so it isn’t cheating.
No, DPI switch is external to the game.
No, the game has +40% sensitivity cap for obvious reason.
Being external to the game options doesn’t make it ‘‘cheat’’.
LMAO, you are really dumbfuck.
Not bannable offense = not cheat
Definition of rape in internet dictionary is not the same as definition in court of law.
Definition of cheating in internet dictionary is not the same as definition decided by the developers of X Y game.
I rest my case now. Maybe I come back in 2028.
Sure 🤡
Bro, you on that “let’s spam ad hominem ‘cause we got no real arguments” team too? 😏
Babas hasn’t touched recon tracker in pubs for like 3 years, man. You don’t know ‘cause you actually dodge playing, that’s your right — doesn’t make you any less good or any less legit to play. (even though we’ve played with you dozens of times on Steam with alt names 😏).
Me? Yeah, I use it, almost always in pubs — partly ‘cause my eyes are kinda busted and it helps me see what’s going on. But honestly, that’s not even an excuse — I’d use it anyway. In public matches I just wanna chill and have fun my way, since like 98% of the lobbies are full of potatoes 🥔😂. I’m not doing it for competition. If the Predator on the other side ain’t having fun, that’s not my problem — I’m not responsible for his entertainment.
In private matches I’ve NEVER used recon tracker, at least not that I can remember. I dare you to dig up a clip or a screenshot that proves otherwise.
No, more like this discussion is pointless bc we’re defining and placing value on completely different things. This is pointless
My philosophy with this game is simple: in pubs, anything goes. Recon Tracker, plasma spam, glitched specs, high DPI disc, OP classes and loadouts, whatever. Pubs is the wild west, you cant rely on randos to save your ass and if youre a pred and you run into a goodnplayer/team you do what you gotta do. Privates, rules can be set, you can say no to whatever you want and the players have to respect that. Key word, respect. If its a free for all, then you do you to win, but if you feel this is unfair or that is unfair or that is “cheating”, take it out. Easy. This game isnt rocket science.
I’m like 90% with you on this. But there’s a big difference between using OP/meta stuff and straight-up cheating. Remember AstonBD? Or that glitch with the fanatic? Yeah, that was cheating. Or maybe not, ’cause the glitched fanatic class was actually IN the game? LOL! That kinda crap should be avoided even in public matches…
The whole debate here is whether the hi-DPI disc with mouse switch falls into that second category or not. For me it’s a big fat yes, no doubt about it. But hey, everyone’s free to see it their own way.
