Potentially Misled

So, we’re all aware of the current state of play; with the servers being on fire and causing frequent issues. I’m quite annoyed too, considering it robbed me of the chance to play with my friends and enjoy the game with them.

However, it was with these friends that I learned we may have been misled with our, very, justified anger.

A friend told me, amid these issues, PSN was having issues, which affected games. This became evident when we struggled to connect to and play Vermintide. So, potentially, maybe the game’s on fire primarily because of Sony, for once, not just Illfonic? Might not even be them all together.

I still agree that we should badger them into fixing things that are VERY much problems but, for once, maybe we can temper our anger towards the devs for a moment and re-center it on Sony. Seems this time they were the ones who made a kerfuffle.

Its definitely a server side issue. Who is at fault nobody will know until they give a response

Yep. So, the most we can do is keep our eyes and ears to whatever form of communication the devs use and await answers. There will be answers, though potentially just one side blaming the other and a small hotfix. Who knows?

This is what I found out as a PC in a short PHG Stream just now: Dukes4369 on twitch said there has been a ddos attack to the PlayStation Servers. That’s why the game or any other online game is not working properly.

There are even some 12 hour old Twitter post about it.

Welp, that’d explain what’s going on. Does make me question who would DDoS Sony. Can’t even say try to DDoS considering…well all of this.

If it’s anything like the attacks I’ve seen in the past, it may last for a few hours and up to a day, though the ripples may persist and cause issues.

But still makes me wonder who would bother DDosing Sony.

Who knows? Maybe just some random attack since it also was against Xbox services, DisneyPlus and some others.

Attacking all of those online services seems less of a random attack and more…targeted. Let’s hope it’s not an omen or anything.

I can’t tell, maybe a computer can select random services to attack. But I hate speculating.
