Well of course, the gal sits there and a meteorite falls on the predators head. Thing is putting the predator against a 15 years old girl… Feels so cheap. At lest use Some like Gina Carano and arm her with modern weapons and armor. We also know WHY they are doing it, is for brownie points with a certain group of people. I will watch it but my expectation are so low, they are underground. Hoolywood has a very bad track record lately.

This is what happens when James Cameron is not asked to write and direct.
James Cameron knows how to do female heroes. Look at Ripley, Vasquez and Sarah Connor. Their gender didn’t need to be mentioned and they weren’t competing to be as tough as the men.
If the female lead in the new movie is cast well and not written as a Mary Sue who is not surrounded by dumb guys that she can make look even dumber then the fact our hero is a woman won’t matter.
Female heroes are only annoying when they are Mary Sue’s and all the male characters are written as idiots who just wanna act like cavemen and the super smart woman has to handhold them. Last Jedi was a good example of this. The women knew how to win while the men ran around blowing shit up and generally making things worse.
Write men and women equally well like my characters from Aliens and you can have a good movie.
Still though. This whole plot is not what the old school pred fans want so probably won’t get a lot of them in theatres and Pocahontas: Pred Slayer probably won’t attract enough new fans to keep the franchise going either. Since predator 2, none of the movies have had that edge of your seat, fear of the creature kind of feel to them. Fear of the unseen was used expertly in the first 2 movies. All others have shown too much.
PS. Calling it now. The pred will be gay or trans.

Granted, Avatar was a GIANT white guilt trip where characters actually fuck trees and animals (all of @James-Cameron 's pets should be worried), but the characters were balanced. Aliens and the Terminator were works of art.
