Predator bow. The Truth...

Are you suggesting you’ve never won against someone playing with a bow?

I’m average, I play with the bow. Because I’ve been wrecked by guys with it, and seen guys on YouTube do it. So I play with it to try to get at that level. I am not, I lose as a result. So I play with the bow to git gud

It’s hard to have a discussion with a potatoe, but i’ll try to explain anyways.
So yeah, why would anyone play with a weapon if the weapon requires skill you say? Well, have you ever heard of the proverb “practice makes perfect” before? It means, if you practice you become good. There’s your answear, why people play with the bow when it needs skill to use.

Atleast we all agree with something you said in this thread.

No man. Im Just saying that the average Preds prefer Bow because they find it easy to play. Im not saying if they are good or bad. They prefer to use Bow cause its less complicated. Variety its difficult…expose yourself at the right time kill them one by one its difficult… Bow need Less skill.

As I said, I disagree.
Back in the day combi rush zerker? That took no skill. Elder sword rusher? Very little skill. Bow? Skill. Especially since the aiming is off and like I said experienced FT players can locate you, especially if you miss, which is very easy to do on moving targets.

Where’s the study behind this claim? I rarely meet a Predator using the bow.

Fair enough. May I suggest, run a few games with that build you mentioned earlier. Scout, bow, down range light bender and energy cell. Like 3 matches. See if it don’t change your mind. It doesn’t fair, it does, okay cool. I think you may see a little more where I’m coming from though.

No. Just testing with friends. I’ll probably complete the list eventually. There are some videos on it too around the place.

Actually, the bow does indeed require skill. If a FT member makes it easy on predator by being a static target, that’s on them. FT members who move around constantly are much more difficult to hit, as you have to lead the target and in the cases of distant shots, requires that one account for the drop-off.

Tl;dr you don’t know what you’re talking about

You can insult me all you want. Those are just the mechanics of the game. Once still and cloaked for a couple seconds, the predator turns completely invisible. The bow and plasma pistol do not affect cloaking. You cannot be spotted while completely invisible, unless you get damaged. Not that hard to understand.

Bows not OP. Yautja bane is OP.

No. Ducks are OP

I love using the yautja bow, it’s probably my favourite predator weapon in the game. I remember wiping out an entire team by standing still right in front of them and shooting them while they tried to revive each other lol.

The bow is powerful in the right hands but the weapon itself is not OP.

If you’re a fireteam player, move around when you’re facing a predator using the bow. It’s a lot harder to hit a moving target than a stationary one. Also, if one of your teammates got hit by an arrow, get to cover and try to find the predator’s position.

People don’t realize it or wont admit it but they actually hate stealth play and feel like they should have enough hp be able to counter and react to everything even if they refuse to play tanky classes. IE the guy asking that combistick throw be a measley 100 dmg so he can survive it playing the squishiest class in the game, or people complaining about bow headshots because it takes them a whole 3 arrows to figure out where its coming from & its killing their attempt at a solo carry.

It’s no different than the people playing seige complaining about getting pre-fired around corners. Everything is “cheap” and “unfair” because they got shot in the back, when really its just the nature of the game.

Insult? When the fuck did I insulted you?
Can you say what insult I used?

Jfc

Yautja bane is useless. 10% increase? You call that OP?
You are better of using gearhead for that extra syrenge

Why 100 base damage for combistick throw:

  • nobody that uses the thick skin perk should be getting one shotted.
  • with down range, 110 damage plus 1 wristblade hit equals 145 damage that will still 2 hit scouts and recons with thick skin
  • headshots will still one shot recons and scouts without thick skin
  • throwing the combistick and slamming would still be a guaranteed 2 hit kill against any fire team class, including for Scout Predators if they use downrange perk.

It’s still a viable weapon without being an easy win, like it currently is.

Why not 100 base damage for combistick throw:

  1. Thick skin shouldn’t be one shot protection on the squishiest class in the game. Don’t pick it if you don’t like having low hp and pred having kill potential? It’s the tradeoff for scout being able to kite & run down preds in second wind, not just be a faster assault. Recon’s garbage and thats a recon problem because every class can use snipers.
  2. This guy balancing around down range to limit perks even more lol
  3. Balancing the combistick around headshots only when the drop on it is insane.
  4. this must be a ps4 meme a whole throw and a slam to kill a scout. Just play support lmao

If your issue is people throwing it at parry gods faces instead of meleeing with it for 30 dmg (lol gee I wonder why they threw it) then reduce damage at point blank. Not that it matters people would just point blank disc throw for double the dmg.

The predators weapons are far from OP, are they all skillful? No however the bow and combistick take far more skill to use as projectile weapons than any of the FTs hit scan weapons. For the past week and a half I’ve played nothing but FT with randoms and have won every single match against both PS4 and PC players most of the time I did the most damage. Not to sound like I’m stroking myself off here but playing as FT is easy and that’s with brain dead teammates who would try to revive a downed teammate in the open without even looking if they’re safe.

I respect that preds use it, but I don’t use it just bc I feel like Robin Hood lurking in Sherwood forest. I prefer the more classic pred weapons but honestly I don’t improve much with the disk so I might give the bow another go and rock that roguish style
