Predator Franchise Can’t Have Sh**

So! For anyone who doesn’t know, the Alien franchise is making big moves in their IP and what their creating. Sure we have 1 game that’s barely functional at times, 4 Predator figures on the way, 1 comicbook series made by Marvel giving off Machinko like vibes (take it as you will), along with a promising but fearful movie that may or may not flop.

Sounds good right? I thought so till the leading of this week being that Aliens will have up to 3 Games, a possible guest appearance on DBD (Dead By Daylight), and a show on the way! We can barely function in this game that’s been out for 3 years but in the span of a year the Aliens have announced 3 games! All gathering hype, tell me I’m not the only one frustrated by this, more so alittle disappointed? Sure franchises like Evil Dead, RoboCop, and Terminator deserve some of love and attending with new games or movies but I feel like Predator hasn’t been shown that same amount of love and passion.

forgot to mention a film on the way too. Its a wierd thing now…ultimately we will find out what will happen as the production gets through. You never know, just beacuse they announce them doesn’t mean they will be made.
I remember several announcements for an Alien RTS about a colony like LV426 and then there would be farm type animals being birthed… this game was announced some time ago, and they weren’t really big companies.
It got canned alonged the way but ultimately Alien Isolation overtook most of the news.
So this could all be speculation based on anticipation and investments from indie companies who want a peice of the pie and who think could pull it off. I think at the end of the day, its either yah or neh from Disney.

Remember the PRedator VR game? Yes it was announce, yes there was trailer and /or prototype…no it wasn’t impressive at all. It was just smoke and mirrors to get people hyped.

That could be all it is. especially in the gaming world where prototypes from indie devs are made all the time. If it were a large dev, then you can bet you’ll be getting more interesting screenshots and footage rather than announcements.

it would also disperse negative criticism if for whatever reason a particular screenshot wasn’t up to par or what not. So then fans, media outlets could just be quiet about anything and everything about stuff until they come out. Fans are notorious about these franchises and individuals like to rip things apart as soon as something small comes out.

Fair but like come on, 3 possibly 4 games? That seems like over kill while Predator is hanging by a thread and on life support

I can anticipate something as large as a AAA title coming out because of this.
This is probably why. Right now AFTE is at the level people are expecting and anything major would probably be a AAA title open world thing. Not a VR, not an RTS, not a card game…
Its all smoke and mirrors right now.

But its compelling evidence that Aliens is HOT!

And if its that big, i’m sure Predator would make it’s way through into the easter eggs one way or another.
PHG is like the AVP 2010 game for its market. It being Predator centric makes it strong but unfortunately lacking in sales I assume.

I mean how much do yo think PHG made?

It was free on PS plus…so you never know.

Well don’t forget the poor marketing after PHG’s was released which was close to none and then the horrible bugs and glitches. It wasn’t even close to finished or someone messing with the data files 🤷🏻 (Whatever you want to believe)

I’ll agree that Aliens is hot but Predator fans have been waiting their moment like RoboCop and Evil Dead. A total franchise revive

Gotta disagree with you about ED. Evil Dead has had continuous activity over the last number of decades, with varying degrees of success but nothing labeled completely trash or below simply average (Hail To The King notwithstanding). ED has had tremendous word of mouth for recommendation, is referenced everywhere, the star power of Bruce Campbell period, has a strong reputation amongst the horror community, has tremendous reviews from fellow people in the genre (Stephen King, Tobe Hooper to name a few), and in terms of media, several decent games for the PS2, a successful and highly rated remake (psuedo-sequel imo), three seasons of a tv show, a new movie set to release this year, and obviously the new game that sold extremely well upon launch. ED is far more popular, financially lucrative, and has a much more dedicated fanbase. You can’t say ED fans have been “waiting for a revival moment”, when it never really died down too much to begin with.

Yea but Alien’s Marvel Comic has been a fucking dud, Hulu show we haven’t even seen anything, Fireteam Elite is facing some pushback for going back on their word, Dark Descent we haven’t seen true gameplay, and the Unreal Engine 5 Game is coming from literal “who” devs. The previous stories with Amanda Ripley and Zulu Hendricks went from Kino to Cringe.

Predator is getting a movie, which is nonething short of a miracle.

Alien Tabletop RPG has been pretty cool tho. Novels too but Predator has also been getting good novels.

I think you’re jumping the gun a bit with whats gonna come for Alien, you can’t take teased products or rumored development seriously. What we know for sure is that Aliens: Dark Decent is coming, which I wouldn’t be too jealous about yet as even the trailer for that game didn’t have proper lip syncing for the character models, and a rumored movie that sounds like its coming to Hulu like Prey. So all and all they aren’t getting that much more attention then us really, other then better quality products admittedly.

BTW Aliens: Fireteam Elite is nothing to write home about, I put a chunk of hours into it and beat the campaign…wasn’t impressed. Game looks good, but other then that the gameplay is extremely repetitive and currently lacks content. Essentially all its got is different horde modes to play…that aren’t designed very well.

Eh. Well idk if it sold more but I think it would being on more systems and it still has somewhat of a player base on Xbox and pc over 10 years later I doubt the same will be for this game in 10 years

Idk, I would rather play PHG than try my ass in a glitched Avp2010 Lobby. The Patched Lobbies sound nice tho.
