Predator gameplay vs Pre-made Discord teams with comms (video)

VIDEO: Click to see the Video

So we have our own active Discord server for people who are tired of pub-stomping as Pred or just having bad luck with random FT teammates. Usually we rotate the Pred after each match so that everyone gets a chance to play as him if they want. If we melt the predator player within like 2-3 minutes of the games start - we give him another change to play pred again instantly. Other than that the game is just a completely different story when playing against coordinated FT vs playing randoms in Pubs.

  • It’s way more stressful

  • As Predator - It’s way more rewarding if you manage to wipe the team, or atleast kill a few of them and survive

  • As FT - it’s also way more rewarding to kill or survive the Predator when you are facing one who knows what’s up.

  • It’s just way more fun overall because everyone knows what they need to do.

Some members from this forum that I noticed in here, who play with us almost daily: @ADIsnap @SilverbornReaver @Arrow_calis

What perks did you use?

When playing seriously (main build) against pre-made PC teams.

CLASS:

Hunter - In high level it’s the most balanced class because Scout is just too squishy and gets melted in seconds against good FT (just good sniper is enough to melt you in the air, two shoots from bolt rifle destroys his mask too); Zerker is just way too slow and runs out of stamina way too fast, even with Adrenal boost on. It’s super easy to hunt him down once he’s in a second wind. Also if Zerker tries to leap while in SW - good FT sniper will just melt his SW timer even more and he will be forced to heal ASAP, while Scout/Recon will just chase his ass down.

PERKS:

Adrenal Boost - In current Meta it’s basically a must-have perk if you are playing against pre-made teams with comms. You need that 1 or 2 extra leaps that it gets you. Be it hit n run tactics where you jump around FT with the bow, changing locations nonstop, making it hard to track you in the jungle while you leap over their heads and shoot arrows while they face your “last-been” direction; or be it when you need to flee. WIth it Hunter is basically a bit slower / less jumpy scout.

Impenetrable - A direct counter to Yautja’s Bane. And with the teams that I play against - usually almost everyone runs it. Im kinda forced to use it.

Down Range - Because of the bow and my playstyle.

GEAR:

Medkit - obvious reasons
Beartrap - I find them the most enjoyable and fitting my way of playing. If I know where FT will camp, like for example that on Derailed they will get on specific rooftop from a specifinc position - I trap that position. Then there’s reinforcements radios and so on.

How about Elder pred? It’s Hunter but better a little

I think it will be my new main. I love additional stamina and longer leap distance. Definitelly looking forward to him and excited to get him. Thing is - Im still lvl 120 :(

129 :/

Thinking he’ll be my new main as well although to make up for the lower health I’d like to have a better selection of gear

That is some insanely accurate bowmanship. Kudos!

I appreciate the comment. Ty :)

Definitelly. Also @deanimate I tried to invite you like 4 times to play with is in full private matches on Discord but I think you were either AFK or playing some other games. Would be cool to play together tho

I agree. Do we know what Elder’s energy consumption looks like?

I could also get behind an almost Scout with room for Bear Traps.

Hey yeah man I need to stay playing some proper games. Should be about tonight (GMT time) for some games if anyone’s on.

Mhm I have better gameplay that this bull

Why don’t you show us big-mouth?

So everyone is in comms being able to hear each other, including the Predator?

Kind of like how it is intended with the in game comms, but without the spatial sounds or whatever it is called.

That is actually pretty cool. I have always thought that the folks using external comms were taking away from the experience as a whole. Illphonic kind of made up for it by having the characters constantly spout one liners, but hearing the actual team talking is much more immersive in my opinion.

Do these matches have any “house rules” to help even the playing field, other than the Predator rotation and do over for Predators who are killed early?

Generally the Predator does mute himself and the FT. I think Sharp did this for the video.

Well that’s a bummer.

Any other house rules? So far I have seen mentioned:

  1. Rotate Predator.
  2. Predator optional do-over.
  3. Predator chooses map.
  4. No sore losers.

Don’t win too well. Or you wont be invited back…
only reason silverborn is in my friendlist is that I got invited.
Destroyed them and asked to go for a smoke before the next round.
Got booted and even the one in my friends list wont respond since

(this was all about 3 weeks ago)

You did? Against me as well?

I don’t remember this…? I think we still gotta play a match against each other.

But also remember, that this group is filled with all varied skills. I think 3-4 of us are really good. The rest is getting there. So it’s not impossible to win as a Predator.
