Predator is Still Super Weak

I thought after this update, the Predator would get some kind of buff, whether it be better camo, more health, anything. I was spotted almost immediately while playing as the Predator, took maybe 4 or 5 rounds, and it took away a quarter of my health (Hunter Class). The Predator desperately needs a buff, or this game won’t survive. No one will play as the Predator anymore if they need to use a medical syringe 2 minutes into the game without doing so much as marking a fireteam member with thermal vision. Better camouflage, and maybe some extra melee damage might be all it needs.

This game is fun, and has great potential, but I thought after the endless complaints about how weak the Predator is, that Illfonic would do SOMETHING about it during this update. Please guys and gals, make the Predator fun to play as.

After all the changes if you still think he’s super weak, Iv got some bad news for ya, it’s not the game, it’s you. They aren’t going to tune it to the point where avg skilled players can cut through a decent FT, you’re going to have to get better. I still think a few small tweaks on the FT side are needed, but not much. The Predator in the hands of a skilled player is quite ruthless.

Really? Because I’ve taken more than 4-5 shots on my Scout with no perks to increase durability and been at over 3/4 health. Think the 4-5 shots was more like 10-15 but it just feel like a few less shots than it was. Also let’s say that was true anyways, ok. Four to five shots from your bow or PC or even claws will typically down all but the beefiest FT members and they would still be hurting real bad. 4-5 shots for a quarter of your health, 4-5 does a quarter of their team dead. Seems pretty balanced to me.

This is what I’m talking about when I say a lot of ppl come in thinking that preds stronger than he is atm.
If you look it at from an outsider’s perspective, and dont know much about asymmetrical games, predator is kind of a fkn joke.

When I see complains like this I blame how the game was marketed, trailers and what not.

I think ft still holds a huge advantage, and we still need more balancing, but the first step is getting every one to realize pred isnt a super soldier or anything.

Hes more of an elite hunter, who needs to play smart.
A lot of ppl dont have the patience.

@McCoy614 I’d like to see you play so I can see exactly what the problem is.

I honestly feel like some maps are better geared for the fire team than others. I think that the problem with this game and the predator is that it discourages new players from even wanting to be the predator. theres such a learning curve to it that it makes it not even fun to be the predator as you’re learning.

I’ve been playing most of the afternoon ( PRAISE THE GODS 2 MINS WAIT TIMES)

The Scout is the only class I see as taking massive heat from weapons, rightfully so I guess?

As for the Hunter, I gotta ask if you’re fighting PC teams.

Between the jumping, running and trees, yeah I get spotted and get shot up lose some health but Hunter has nice chunk of it. I was surprised. That might be me going back to Hunter after Scout for so long but I ripped teams apart.

Did I die? A few times,

Did I win, oh yeah

Did I kill FT members, every single round. Without a problem. You can single a guy out, if they counter hunt, the plasma caster if you work your aim can just chip so good.

You will end up green, and bloody but boars spawn like in herds (enjoy it while it lasts)

On PC its a different story. No comment.

The problem is that the Predator is not super weak. He’s capable of wiping a team no problem at all. But he’s also easily rinsed. So you have to know exactly how to engage or get clapped. I promise you don’t wanna see him buffed. If you buff him to the point of being able to just drop on teams 0 plan at all and win it will bust the game.

What’s up with the FT fencing with the Hunter? I mean, the Pred should win that more than not? Is Dutch extra strong against the Pred?

i agree they are ways to have a 100% success rate as FT

Nah, I wrecked 3 dutches and sniper no problem in my first game post update. It’s how you fight

Yep! 6th game using zerker combi stick and ive let people reinforce, prob averaging 6-7 kills a game. Pred is literally overpowered unless you have a minigun

This patch was good btw guys, they have improved a lot the match making as well. The game still needs a lot of tools, like ranked system , personal statistics and more levels for sure. Just take that update. It was good, if they over buff the predator and make him brain dead (so the opposite of how is right now, high skill cap) all are gonna queque for pred and wait time will increase to 20 minutes.

Then people say a good FT can finish all objectives in 5 minutes so they don’t have enough time to plan things out

FT is meant to be a challenge for Predator. That is why Predator even wants to hunt them.

Against a good team, 1-2 claims is a good run and some runs just not dying is good enough, especially with all the Predator bugs. It is all about waiting for them to make a mistake and some matches you just may not get many.

Predator is just a little stronger, faster, beefier, etc. than any one FT member and has a couple of tactical advantages.

FT has numbers and teamwork.

Do not consider every match a failure if you do not wipe the entire FT. OG Predator only managed to get 6 out of 7.

nope :) over the last 2 weeks i lost 4 times (due to perfect teamwork from FT. GG on them)… i noticed a rise in skilled FT players over the last couple of weeks and thats fun.

I’m confused. I dont see how those relates to what I said. Do you mean that one of the advantages is that the ft missions are quick and easy? Cause if thats what you’re saying then ya, I agree.

Yeah people complain that the missions are to short and can be completed in 5 minutes

Yeah man. Like that’s a huge reason I keep saying ft needs longer and more complex missions. As well as bigger maps. Even when you win as a ft, it kinda feels like an empty victory atm.

I’ve only ever played against 1 pred I was impressed by, but he was a good ft as well. And even then, it’s not like I really felt like ft was all that great.

The scout is the only class that’s the weakest health-wise. Either you are standing still long enough to take all that heat or you’re playing scout predator. You have to constantly move if you’re spotted. Play the long range game or hit and run with your weapons/items to wear them down. Always look for the weak links in the FT and single them out when they make the mistake of lagging behind.
