Hunting not for honor or sport, but because they want the super power of Hollywood autism
predator killer
I thought they sent the assassin after the fugitive
He was an Enforcer
Because the fugitive stole the iron Pred suit for reasons
Was it ever explicitly stated the kid was autistic?
Assassin is implied to be upgrading himself to be a better hunter
Assassin is dishonorable. I donāt know much about the Enforcers
I canāt quite remember if the movie actually says it or not, but yes the kid was autistic.
And Assassin wanted that autism
Enforcers are essentially the Yautja police force
They hunt bad bloods or Yautja that break the Yautja code
The fact that thereās literally no other instance of preds past, present, or future genetically altering themselves.
Besides maybe the 4 armed Pred.
No heās a bad blood.
That was retconed after the movie though so In movie heās your typical Pred and itās the fugitive whoās the bad blood which is why the movie retcons the entire universe.
This conversation has retconned my brain
I just watch the movie for the action
And Munn š„°šš¤©
What?
Hereās a movie with Olivia Munn in a small role
š„°šš¤©šš„°šš¤©
Ah
OK simp :P
Munn is attractive, and Sterling K Brown was the only entertaining character the movie.
They had decent actors. Unfortunately, a good movie is 90% good writing, and the writing in this movie couldnāt have been worse.
I like Thomas Jane portrayal of tourettes
Comedy gold
Pretty sure the whole retcon was that none of the honor stuff matters for the gang back home on Yautja Prime. Basically civil war going on - augmented vs unaugmented like its Cybertron and they want to invade earth and live there instead. It actually doesnāt have to retcon the rest of the franchise beyond saying the first two preds weāve seen were both traditionalist boomers that havenāt been home in centuries, but the stealing spines retcon was exceptionally stupid. The whole āpredator scientistā and nanomachines angle is awful in general. Really thereās a Predator Tony Stark making iron man suits to fight cyborg predators on cyberpunk yautja prime?
The whole predator honor code thing on the level of the comics is going to take a hit eventually because it has no reason to be consistent (even within its own movies) and at the end of the day youāre trying to direct a slasher film not Seven Samurai. Kind of makes sense youād have clans augmenting themselves as a logical outcome but that whole movie was handled in the dumbest way possible.
Actauly the fugitive Pred was part human meaning he was a defector.
Beyond the Fugitive and Retcon conflict the movie doesnāt establish any conflict between preds and sets the augmented preds as the new base line with out anything establishing him apart.
Thatās why you get a good director/writer who can write a slasher Samurai movie.
Ya a small group of preds augmenting themselves makes sense; the film just needed to clarify that they were bad bloods. But it didnāt.
Seriously swap it around so the fugitive was was an enforcer hunting the retcon, establishing (or give the chance too) that the retcon is a bad blood, explain a how Stargazers restraints failed so miserably, and you can have the fugitive show off against the retcon and have the fugitive win showing the original is the superior
Because bigger is not better.
Better augments vs shittier augments then. Agree on all accounts but bigger is definitely better the way things are going. The OG always tends to lose these matchups, atleast vs the supers you could say it was because Crucified was tied up with no food for weeks.
I just wish the upgrades werenāt just straight up bulletproof armor, movie was ridiculous even in the things it tried to do right.
I know the only scene where the retcon Pred actauly preded was when he hid in the first canopy.
Ah yes a unimportant character
That would have been better. Then the fugitive would have actually had a reason to get assistance from the humans.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so cute
