Predator Melee Counters

Oh gosh how dose that work

Honestly surprisingly well considering most preds charge dead on. Just hop sideways. I gotta look if I got a recording of doing it.
It’s an all or nothing move when playing scout FT but it does work.

It is true this works on most predators, find a good one with the elder sword or scythe and you better pray you have a competent team. If you’re with potatoes that are usually in randoms… Its bad…

Oh I got to see this šŸ˜‚

True, it’s incredibly easy to counter once a pred realizes what you’re doing. Usually though players mindset is either
A: ā€œMash melee kill dirty fireteam!ā€
B: Okay swing until parried then get out of damage range.
Both get pretty caught off guard

I melt so fast to the scythe even with my 200 HP support its not even funny, If you miss parry 2 times, you’re dead. So its try to circle and get a few parries in and hope the team can actually hit him. That is assuming he is decent, I’ve kited predators across something like 100m lol.

Not the best example. I’ve probably got a better example that I haven’t uploaded i can look through when I get home. Start at the 3:33 mark

I’m sorry I don’t quite understand your question

You said something there, I am asking if you where referring to 1v1 scenarios or when the full team unloads on the alien.

Yeah, guy was pretty bad, probably new at the game (check the armor) and had the writsblades. That guy I would just dance around with the knife and he would leave in second wind. Then again I run support so lots of HP. If you get one with the scythe that knows how to attack, so frustrating it is.

Yeah I mean the whole game is situational though. Most ā€œgoodā€ preds won’t put themselves in that position to begin with. Running a support you might not have the speed to get out of the way as much too. Works great with scout and Recon, I don’t remember if I’ve tried it with any of the other classes.

Its fast enough, its more about sprinting that is slower but its not that significant or I would fall far behind the others when moving between bases.

Also most good predators would put themselves in that position if they would know they can get out of it and from the looks of things that guy almost downed you before help got there so a proper predator with the scythe… Yeah… He would’ve got a down there.

Maybe

Well and that was on me, I backed myself into a corner instead of kiting towards my back up.

I’ve posted a video into the video topic where I play with kids, made 2 big mistakes by the end, run out of ammo on my AR and backed into a rock as the guy was spamming PC, I know how it feels :))

Happens sometimes, heat of the moment and all.

Gotcha. I would say both. I’ve successfully 1v1’d preds in that fashion as well as held them off long enough for my team to swoop in

If you could circle and shoot with no parry and with no team support, its because of the skill of the predator. Its possible, true, until you find a good one :)

Oh he was fast but I was scared he was going to get you as soon as you went under the stairs

Yeah, critical mistake on my part backing myself in a corner. It’s also a lot better and easier done in a more wide open space. Like I said I’ll look for some better examples when I get home.

This guy was decent, head to 4:00. I avoided it enough that when we where in a 1v1 scenario he decided to pelt me with the PC and not engage in melee.
