It’s gonna look weird on Saturday. That will be the biggest indicator of what’s up regarding just how much is affected by this.
And frankly Disney I doubt wants to face a situation like Terminator where several individuals have to greenlight something in order for anything to come out. It’s also a situation where the Thomas Brothers can also hold the franchise hostage and nothing happens because they haven’t been in the film industry in years and just got bad blood with one of the biggest studios out there since this is coming up as they’re about to begin filming on a new project. Yeah Disney’s pissed, they’re holding the money Fox just spent on a dead project in the midst of a year of a pandemic where everybody is losing money. Disney has every right to be pissed since that’s millions spent on a now dead project.

I’ll be honest: at this point I am over this game’s shit development, over the Predator franchise getting made into a mockery of itself (thank/fuck you Shane Black etc), and very much over Disney’s bullshit pandering/takeover tactics.

I dunno maybe Disney directing Predator won’t be so bad though I can’t imagine how it fits into their theme of princess and Star Wars maybe?
This could stop upcoming DLC. Illfonic should just release the new update today.

My personnal take on the matter is that Predator hunting ground existed or atleast started development before the 20 may of 2019. before that disney own the right on the fox and on the predator franchise overrall. and i will be honest it might be because of that, that illfonic didn’t put any predator movie since a while. so the answer thati have come up with: PHG have an indepent exploitation right pre-dating disney buying owning the right of the PHG franchise. if its true, the predator buying pulled out of Disney right might be a very good thing for the game and give the opportunity for illfonic to draw more stuff out of the movie and of the extended universe.
However if the writter take back the predator franchise overrall do not expect any AVP comics or video game before well…never since knowing disney they wont lets that happen since they wont be able to make money out of it.
I talked with my BF and he believes that there a two scenarios:
1) The game and the servers will remain but we won’t get anymore updates. And the Anniversary Update could become free content.
2 If the Thomas Brothers get the rights of Predator it could happen that a new development will make a game completely from scratch or they will take PHG and rework it (rework is probably unlikely since it’s no big game and it would need a Petition with hundred thousands of signatures for it to work)
But what can I say. We all panic and we know nothing at all about this. We all can hope that the game won’t die though. This would be really sad to be honest.

If they only get the rights we could be lucky.
