'Predator' Screenwriters Suing Disney to Recapture Rights

Okay but is there like any convo between the thomas brothers on why they are like trying to acquire the license n ownership back? is it cause they just want like to have it them self?

Because it’s worth millions

I mean it cant just be like that only… there has to be surely like their take on wanting to acquire it back to make new movie and like ask arnold to come shoot a new movie XD

It’s Hollywood

Of course it’s all about the money

Maybe we get to see arnold as dutch… hmmm hmmm again

If the rights expire Saturday shit’s about to get weird with listings. Hold on to your asses.

Alot of these people sold their creative ideas for peanuts, while the multi million dollar companies raked in all the cash , why do you think movie sequels suck nowadays? Because they need to keep using them or they can lose them . Alot like this game , no passion and an IP they thought they could make a quick buck with , and minimal effort on their part . They fucking suck , they lied about future content , they lied about fixing matchmaking , they lied and making it better balanced . They didn’t even have much to play with besides the name and 4 skins , but 5 in total because they used nostalgia to sell dutch twice , they used nostalgia and deception to get preorders and they used the nostalgia of the IP .

Illfonic and these other companies are whats killing gaming , half assed egomaniacs thinking they can coast a below mediocre game .

Fuck that

@Cadillackid

I looked it up and Predator is in fact worth more than Friday the 13th

Also has more future profits, like I said.

Action/Sci-Fi generally is more profitable than horror

The other issue with Friday the 13th is that Jason is owned by another company since he’s a separate copyright to what the guy who owned F13 actually owned. Friday the 13th as a game had to be shut down since it’s under the Friday the 13th brand but Jason is owned by different people.

This is why I’m saying certain Predators might be exempt from this because AVP isn’t Alien and Predator, it’s just AVP. It’s its own license which is going to cause the mother of all headaches regarding who owns what. Meaning potentially Disney could technically hold onto them via the crossover or this could end up like Trek where you have two different versions of the same brand.

But the designs are virtually the same and it still has Predator in the title

Maybe if they change it to AVY

Alien vs Yautja

Doesn’t have the same magic though

The shuriken could go here because it appeared in The Predator. But Scar himself is under the AVP branding meaning you’d need the license to get that specific Predator.

Essentially weapons have some fluidity but the specific characters and events are under a different brand.

Yaujta is under the Predator license, so is Hish. The name of the species doesn’t come up in AVP branded material that I’m aware of but if it predates the appearance in the solo material (if it originates in the crossover it might be something they can use) it might be fair use.

My theory is everything is dead in the water because it has the name Predator

Its not like someone capable saw an opportunity to cash in and made a quality product. Whatever happens, just remember the good time you had with PHG. They might be scares, but a year afterwards we are still here. So all our bitching is like belle indifference. Those that stayed firmed a fun community. And that would not happen of we didn’t have this crappy game

AVP as a name might be gone. Fox would still hold the rights to AVP but if it doesn’t work like Trek then they can’t use the name even if they have access to the Predators from that series.

Weirdly I could see Disney playing it like Marvel with their version of Godzilla.

Hopefully it’s more cut and dry than the mess that is Friday the 13th

Holy fucking hell.

Not again.

Please… not again.
