'Predator' Screenwriters Suing Disney to Recapture Rights

I mean seriously though. How epic would a prefight monolog from him to Obi wan, bitching about spending years acting like a buffing and having been able to force choke the hell out of him at any given time for his arrogance while calling him a pathetic life form. Literally like repeat the whole “That’s the sound of a thousand nasty things coming to grind our bones to dust” bit and shit.

Soooooooooo much wasted potential

It was about the force being stronger in certain bloodlines , what was the force for rey? Oh yeah , training isn’t needed even though all the masters were trained . A mary sue isn’t a 9 year olds argument? Anakin was destined to be one of the most powerful , rey was a better pilot than solo , chewbacca , luke and anakin . Skywalker was at least a pod racer and relevant to the Canon. Didnt rey also say she had never flown before? But could pilot the falcon alone? She was stronger than luke , they even pulled teleporting abilities out of their ass to show she was something levels above anything else . She is the definition of Mary sue and its what alot of people didn’t like just like captain marvel .

So the 9 year old thing doesn’t fly man , she also could force manipulate storm troopers without even knowing what it was , then there was the fan fiction love story with kylo . Lukes arc? Yeah they straight up buried his character and dont even get me started on the writing . The prequels were closer to starwars than those three were and because they made money? Doesnt mean the majority liked them.

Its like any marvel movie the name alone sells , captain marvel? Black panther? They sucked but made money

I won’t disagree that Rey has Mary Sue moments but so does Luke and Anakin. A lot of the problems in the sequels also pop up in the other two trilogies. I’m sorry but no, driving a podracer is not the same as flying a star fighter lol. Scout troopers can use speeder bikes that must mean they can pilot frigates! Not how it works. 9 year old Ani who only ever piloted pod racers (and crashed every time except once!) Can now fly a Starfighter and take down a trade federation battle station? Not buying it. Luke’s only training at this point was with a remote droid and yet at the beginning of ESB he could force pull his lightsaber towards him in the ice caves? Similar flaw in the writing. Yes you are right about Rey being a Mary Sue by magically being good at flying the falcon. But similar flaws pop out throughout the entire saga yet because the star wars fandom is blindsided by bias, it gets swept under the rug to hate on whatever is new (the only exception to that rule has been the Mandalorian).

Look we can go through all the flaws in each trilogy and we’ll be here all day. But that’s not the main point I’m trying to get across. When I said the majority liked them I was not talking about the sequel trilogy because that is just plain false to say that the majority liked them. I was talking about Clone Wars season 7, Mandalorian etc. If Star Wars was dead then why is stuff like the Mandalorian so popular? Because it’s very much alive! And if you think stuff like Mando sucked then that’s okay that’s your opinion but you are in the minority on that one and have to acknowledge that.

And back to what was actually my main point, the sequels were duds because of the writers and Lucasfilm. Not Disney. The same will be for Marvel movies. The same will be for Predator movies.

I didn’t mention the ones you like , I meant the three movies and the fallout due to them . As for mando? Because in contrast it is nothing remotely like those three movies . There is the starwars movie universe, animated and TV series . Although most are probably Canon? They are handled very different and there was major in-house trouble over the reaction to those movies . And hey , I’m no lucas fan fanboy, he wanted indiana jones’ girlfriend to be something like 12 years old when they met 😄 so fuck him

Well yes the backlash to the sequels was big. But honestly if you ask me I reckon the backlash towards the prequels would’ve been just as big if the internet was more prominent back then. The hate for those was very similar to the hate for the sequels and I bet within time, when they’ve gotten more lore, more shows based on the era they’ll slowly, very slowly become adored like the prequels are now today.

See the thing is a lot of the stuff got hate when it came out then slowly became adored. Rogue one, Rebels even Clone Wars when that came out. It’s just a phase that tends to pass and a lot of the times an overreaction.

But imo Star Wars is a franchise that won’t die. Especially not with new stuff coming out so often. After all bad batch and book of boba fett are just around the corner. There’s a lot to be excited for even if the sequels were let downs.

And yes fuck George Lucas the dodgy bastard for even considering that decision

Plus didn’t they cancel something like over five movies because of the reception those last three got? Starwars isn’t dead , but it was pulled from a ditch at last minute and revived

Ah I think that was just a rumour. I remember hearing Ryan Johnson’s trilogy was cancelled but that turned out to be a lie and he came out and said it’s still happening.

The only time I would say star wars was dying or close to dying would be right before the buyout seeing as George Lucas wanted nothing to do with it anymore.
I will admit it seemed like it was dying around the sequel trilogy but looking into it you could see we were getting other stuff at the time like Rebels, Rogue one, Solo. I would say it was more of a slow start than a near death experience. Like they were still trying to find their footing.

They had a huge list of movies , isn’t that also meant to be where the mandalorian spawned from? The movies getting shit canned?

Solo sucked , rogue one was ok

I think that was nothing more than a rumour. I remember what you mean now though. A supposed boba movie and a Kenobi movie. But that was before Disney+ was even a thing so they just refined them into a series. So in a sense we’re still getting them. Just in a different format. A better format imo.

Solo grew on me quite a bit. Had the coolest imp scenes imo. The battle of mimban scene was chef kiss imo.

Yeah just as I thought. It’s not gonna affect the game at all and it’s gonna keep kicking. Unless they’re being very ballsy which now that I think about it is probably the more likely answer 🥴

Aren’t there talks about a solo 2?

Yeah so I heard. Though I don’t think anything else has surfaced about it. Not sure if it’s even happening. Wouldn’t mind it though. Need some more after that juicy cliffhanger.

Darth Maul popped up and turned out to be the bigger villain. It was good to see him in live action again even if it was just a hologram.

Oh , yeah I seen that bit 😁 . I’ve still not seen all of rogue one. I watched it with some female company and was busy trying to get stinky finger . I remember looking round at the ending spoiler though 🤔 . Plus my son went to the cinema and told me exactly how it ended when I first seen him

You got your priorities right it seems haha. Rogue one is a decent film with solid action scenes. There’s also a cool scene on a certain planet which I will not spoil in case you don’t know. But it’s definitely worth a watch once even if it’s just for those scenes.
