I made a small video showcasing what I believe to be the best way to utilize the slam mechanic using the hunter class, After finally reaching level 100, I’ve found these tactics to be the most effective ways to have alot of fun, keep the match going on for longer, keep the fire team scared and entertained, and most importantly improve the overall game experience for both sides without rushing the game too fast like most combi stick berserker playstyles. Feel free to check out the video and let me know what you think!
PREDATOR SLAMS ARE JUST TOO GOOD!
slams just need the dmg lowered and the animation cancel removed, I stopped using PC to get them out because 1 the aiming is clunky at shorter ranges, and 2 the reticle accuracy needs work
Slam is only useful against a single target on his own or multiple huddled up targets. If FT are able to cover one another while only one of them takes the slam hit, the predator is in for a world of hurt.
the problem with doing both things is the slam will no longer be a viable option
before it was buffed (albeit we didn’t know if the animation cancel was a thing pre patch)
slam was considered a stictly bad thing to do if you do it the fireteam will shoot you to death for slamming them
if it does low dmg lets say 60 and you have to stand there you will die by the time the animation ends
is it ok for an option to deal with fireteam when there all grouped to be nonviable?
just a suggestion, I’m honestly fine with the dmg rn but the animation cancel does need to go at least I think
If the damage on Slam gets reduced then the animation should be faster. If you slam with a combistick your standing there for 3-4 seconds which is long enough for you to get second winded from full.
i would rather the animation cancel stay but the dmg is lowered tbh unless this thing does like 110 dmg without cancel i would never use it
yea I think it needs to be weapon dependant
that would be nice, but make the animation cancel part of the built in mechanic then… and if not Illfonic needs to make a dang tutorial for it lol. In general they need to actually point out stuff u can do lol… they don’t even have tagging in tutorials…
maybe not OP if they fix some exploits, like slam trough the roof/walls and animation cancel
I feel that even if the damage was lowered, if the predator was no longer rooted it would actually be spammed even more. The one thing keeping people from spamming it on a constant basis is the danger of taking too much damage while rooted. If I could take advantage of doing a slam and immediately leaping away afterwards I would absolutely do that. I may not get a kill with it but being able to reduce FTs health and resources goes a long way.
Yep, indeed
not op at all damage wise its fine it just make no sens thy can smash tro a bunker bud it makes for fun game play tbh bud i can understand if its getting a fix cause now it makes no sens at all
I just realized that the animation could be cancelled, didn’t notice when I was making the video lol :D
It is to powerful. This move used on roofs is down right broken and an exploit. They seriously need to fix at least the slam on the roof.
no, if this is a tactic then continue with it. If FT is stupid enough to go out on their own then all the power to the preadtor. Why are people complaining this?
By that logic I destroyed 5 Fireteams in about eight minutes, counting time from initial contact each match, back to back last night so obviously the Scout is overpowered right? What a non-argument. You can actually evade the slam and in a group all you need is to not dogpile each other and it’s gonna suck to be a Predator dunking into that.
This is true. The FT has quite a few counter play options to the slam.
Dont huddle together then lol, you can stay in LoS without being up each others asses. Slam is Preds counter to 4 players standing on top of each other.
Dont wanna get slammed? Don’t hug your friends ass and maks yourself a target.
Need to go in a building for an objective? Only need one. The other 3 can guard the entrance and spot the Predator. If you’re outside, you can see if the Predator slams the building and the one teammate inside. You can take advantage of low stamina, no energy and cloak. You can easily spot its fleeing direction once it moves.
Don’t huddle and adapt.
