Predator stealth dismount

I would first like to say that this is not at all something I feel is a priority but more of a QOL change. The transition from trees to ground as a predator using stealth dismount is very clunky and not at all smooth or useful.

Smoothing out the transition would be most ideal, however I have an idea to make it more useful.

Stealth dismount from a tree acts as an attack IF a an enemy is directly below. Similar to net gun pin except the predator pins the enemy to the ground himself( able to maintain cloak?) and stabs the enemy with his claws applying a bleed and crippling affect leaving the injured on the ground able to crawl, but not in a downed state, thus can’t be claimed. Another fireteam member would need to come and pick up the crippled teammate.

Mombasa (Predators): “Wound one man. Make him suffer . Make him bleed . Make him call out for help, and set a trap and kill those who come.”

This would allow some skill-based strategy to attack in a more stealth-like manner.

The stealth/hunting aspect of predator is greatly lacking and usually devolves into a more confrontational conflict, less like a hunt and more like a battle. This and more abilities skills would improve the hunting aspect of the game.

Maybe it could be an ability exclusive to the stealthier lighter predators much like a specialization element.

I would love to do an aerial assassination like move, indeed it wouldn’t kill but I like it regardless.
As for the crippling effect I think yours is a little overkill. How about instead you knock them to the floor, but they get up as if they have been picked up and have an extended concussion effect. I also think this should also be applied if the Predator leaps directly onto FT.

Basically the Predator can do a Goomba stomp

My only issue with just a normal knockdown with a concussion effect where the get right back up is that it then makes the move high risk low reward. No on would use it except for style points.
The crippling effect is hardly overkill as the move would be difficult because the skill is all about positioning, timing and precision thus wouldn’t be an ability you can use anytime. And it only forces the FT to do what they should be doing anyways: working together.

If they get crippled and have to crawl what’s to stop the Predator from just killing then off right there and then. I can see the rewards your going for, but some people would try to abuse it once it happens

I already said the wouldn’t be claimed in the crippled state. Or do you just mean damage such as melee or plasma?

I read this in Carl’s voice

On topic, always wanted status effects - there really aren’t any asyims with them. Mangled status effect while running bloodhound in DBD casually strolling around the map looking for bloodtrails after survivors hit a trap is the most fun way to play

What if burning in this game reduced max hp and made wrist launcher actually decent? Only undone via syringe at full health similar to Hunt Showdown?

Haha Carl is great right?

I agree there aren’t enough status effect that actually deepen gameplay. Wrist launcher is still just damage even if it is over time.

I like your idea that statuses actually have a lasting effect like you said burns from fire reduce total health or bleed might also add (maim) a timed reduction to movement speed for, hypothetically like 10 seconds. Traps could also apply light bleed and maim as well.

I am sure there also others that could be added too. I feel that the game is bare ones and aside from bug fixes and actual content it’s time to really flesh out the gameplay. Give options for varying playstyles for both FT and Pred.

They already took a step in the right direction with FT. I hope they keep expanding that and do the same for Preds.

Like, for example, I remember a dude said something awhile back that what if Berserker had an ability like a shoulder charge that knocks back anyone in their path for the duration. Maybe it could replace leap for zerk and Viking. Maybe make it a new ability mechanic much like weapons that can be added to loadouts or at worst a perk.

So much potential. I hope they don’t squander the possibilities.

I want my name to be spaghetti.

Yeah melee and plasma

You know what had good Predator mechanics, Batman Arkham Series and Middle-Earth Shadow of War, that kinda sounds like what your talking about with aerial take downs.

Right it was so much fun did you play the second one? I haven’t yet. It’s in my backlog.

Yes that’s the one called shadow of war it’s fun but hard if your not good in the first one, the orcs in the second are adaptable to anything you throw at them, you can take fortress and my fav the story is awesome 😁
