Predator TV series Hype Trailer

Im borderline about this. Its hard to say if we could ever see an animated series with violence like this considering the market had been flooded with MCU stuff like What if. I mean, there is still the AVP anime and I’m still hoping for something more capable of doing animation without it looking like a video game. I’m still hoping it will be fun like the Capcom coin up but 100x better.

Someday brother some day 😢

yeah, it feels like some exec said ā€œlets merge Assassins Creed Valhala, Ghosts of Tsushima, and some assets from What If and make an predator movie with unidentifiable predator designsā€ and this is what you get. And ā€œThey better like it because we spent a shit ton of money on story writing that cost Disney an arm and a legā€. But it will sell incredibly well in Ethiopia because nobody there had bought anything fromt he franchise before! and they are just trying to corner every country for a market that had never spent a dime on it. Why? Because Ethiopia just started to purchase stuff from the gaming platforms and they just found out about the franchise last year or something.

I bet you Hulu makes available entertainment to a very very small demographic in the world who had never purchased entertainment before (possibly because they can’t afford Netflix).

Whoa I never knew that 😳

im using Ethiopia as an example. im not stating it as fact.

Oooooh

its obvious that they are attracting a gamers market rather than a film goers market. They hit that nail hard with the art direction.

Design choices will always be a factor at least for me, BUT gotta say im like 40% anticipating this one where with badlands my anticipation is like 5-10%.

Maybe they think if using what if graphics that it will draw more people?

I think they are connected

possibly. Whats considered a hit now isn’t really dependant on making lots of money. its more like fulfilling some kind of overall critical factor.
If they sell toys with this I would be surprised. There is a whole issue of costs with toys so I don’t know if that has anything to do with this design choice.

them making the franchises cute could have a bad impact on the fanbase no matter how many queers like it. to me this Killer of Killers is making it cute for no particular reason and its a real turn off.

between me and buddies of mine whom I already drag out to theatres to see the next Predator film, this is a skip.

Prey happened during the pandemic era or aftermath of the pandemic . I think just maybe this could be the direct result of such a catastrophe. The PRedator was naturally a skip but for a good reason.

You know they will I’m more disappointed in the grandma Viking taking down a berserker lol šŸ˜‚

I know what you mean likely funk pops

F13 made funko Jasons but they never stopped making F13 horror based films. They never made it an animated series, and they never made their games stupid kiddy like.
So that being said, that could have nailed the coffin shut for F13. Now they want to do Predator with a treatment which is a leap from all the other horror/slasher types and make it gamer friendly. Not sure what the results may be because its kind of the first but frankly they aren’t impressing me.

  1. Volarent …what the fuck is that game anyway?
  2. why Vikings…because we can imagine something interesting due to a DLC from PHG?
  3. why Samurais …because we can imagine something interesting due to a DLC from PHG?
  4. why ww2 stuff?
  5. I’m going to stop asking why because the more I ask why will possibly rip a black hole of ā€œWHYSā€ based on whatever stories they got cooked up…

Again we are back to the principals of their content production schemes of ā€œlet the audience take it inā€ā€¦but my issue is its all based on current marketing trends (now I want to PUKE).

They think art is something you feel on a particular day. For example, the great model designs by studios that make interesting shit that will make you shit your pants. To disney that stuff is how you feel on a particular day. Nothing will make you shit your pants forever based on the factor of ā€œFEAR OF THE ALIEN DOES NOT EXISTā€. Therefore, Disney will choose, what is on the Kiddie/Kindle market, the adult contemporary market, the Romance/Bromance market, and they will put money down and that shit because PEOPLE invest on the stock market because of this and people who do that are stupid! meaning your next product will likely be based on stupid ideas that are completely idolized to some degree (maybe a popular teen will endorse it).

So the predator franchise is basically in the hands of the grandmas and grandpas who own the accounts of the franchise and are from EUROPEAN descent. Why? BECAUSE THE SHITLOAD of GRANTS and LOANS are from fucking in EUROPE. Don’t open that can of worms because thats huge.

REMEBER THIS: FRANCE is the adjacent giver of money from the Entirety of Europe include Britian (at least some parts ) and they hold all the investment strategies from there. Lets not get into Japan because that will come in the next year or two and that shit stems from all of Asia. I mean Asia loves the franchise but they couldn’t give a shit one way or another.

Fear of the unknown, Fear of the Alien, Fear of the Universe, is not part of the schematic. Its more like, what has Tobey Maguire done in the last few films he did that could help the franchise and then PROMPTS from the grannies and grandpas results in them putting money down on that instead. Welcome to the universe of European investments (stemming from Catholic money). Another example might be American History X. If something is so horrible you believe you should make money off the belief it would suddenly have an Anti-thesis. Then you won’t know where the trouble lies if the country its made in believes on the anti-thesis. It digs a hole larger than you can dig the problem out of. Like if the Predator digs a hole to deep just to give you night shivers, then the issue of digging itself out of that hole might be something under-developed. Thats what Disney will not like. They don’t have a film that is fun, it just kills itself. Alien was experimental, but it had all sorts of narratives and subplots to make you believe it could find a solution to its philosophical death stranding. But thats why Alien didn’t do too well box office wise but it had a ā€œCULTā€ following. Thats the scary word Disney dislikes.

Like if you really wanted a Predator film that would question your faith in humanity, I don’t think they will invest on that shit because if suddenly you lost ā€œfaithā€, they won’t have your money unless something was going to be there to save you and to take your money away in good faith.

I think what would be worse is if the franchise made too much money and becomes, what was once a beloved cult film, into a bloated MAss Effect type of game where some singled out protagonist (for some shitty reason) is the focal point of the franchise and nobody remembers why the film starring a hot headed meat head with a gap in his front teeth inspired a generation (oh yah he was also Mr.Universe and a Mayor in the United States).

I don’t know how to respond to that šŸ˜“ but I understand that your right about how licensing is being used for more kid friendly audiences or gamers, I mean I’ve been up to date with the media and I learn all kinds of weird things like ā€œstreamersā€ ā€œdiscordsā€ ā€œVtubersā€ it’s scary how social media consumes the population and use crossovers like destiny and fortnight ā€œcollabingā€ with Disney Star Wars for over priced digital cosmetics knowing how the economy is and cyber bullying if your ā€œnot with itā€ if you don’t have the skins

Glad you responded. Another tidbit is that if a product makes a million bucks, the governments takes in those taxes.Imagine 300 million bucks then you start to get an idea what a profitable movie can make for a government and think about where that tax money goes to if the writers decide to ā€œsideā€ with a particular viewpoint or perspective. Then you get into a shitty ā€œpoint the finger at what the point of the movie was all along vs who you chose to give a fuck about on any political or social viewsā€ā€¦
Remember those days when Pop music artists like The Boss and Fleetwood Mac use to side with a political party? Well thats why popular culture plays a huge part in governmental spend.

Can Gaming studios and film studios be happy just to break even? Maybe.

In some small crevasse of artistic merit there are studios that go under and some that just break even.

Disney banks on this franchise to make an empire if it has any potential to do so.

So unless their contracts are woven into a very tight gripping stance, then all i see Predator as being is being ā€œsmartā€ and selling out while doing so. Its not going to do a thing for WETA or small art houses unless they expressly are contractually bound to benefit art studios. Too bad we NEVER see who benefits.

But its KOOLAID . Disney making bank but putting to work all those who NEVER HAD WORK.
