i know what you mean if youre talking about AVP/AVPR. although i would consider them canon only to the part of them being the “old Gods”. the whole "oh there just so happens to be a queen xeno in the pyramids basement was going out on a limb.
We both know that Disney isn’t doing anything with them anytime soon, or if they are, they aren’t affiliating the Disney Brand. Reason why that AVP Animation series is still in Netflix’s vaults.
I went on the wiki page of the Stalking shadow novel. I think now we know when they will release the DLC ! ;)

May 26th perhaps? I’m looking forward to it! I thought the free DLC was supposed to be mid May though. I think I’m going to get this novel too.

Only time will tell ! We’ll have to be patient. A little patch for matchmaking wouldn’t hurt before then though.

Absolutely, I believe this should be item number one to be fixed even prior adding new content to the game.
It seems the matchmaking issues is pushing away a good amount of players–and I somehow understand it–I faced a few issues with “incomplete lobbies” and/or long time on matchmaking and it can be really annoying mainly when you have a limited time to play.
As I read through the posts, dare I say, that most of the players would prefer a fix for matchmaking rather than get new content in the next weeks.
I, for one, want both, silly me :)

I hope they’re trying to hide some big surprise, like Christmas before time surprise XD ! Only that would explain the big silence from their team.
It would be a shame to see this game die in the shell before it can expand to its full capacity !

Yeah, they better be hiding some shit. Rn it’s not too shabby of a game, but not great either. If they just all of a sudden butt fucked us with more iconic predator cosmetics, better matchmaking, more game modes, a couple of new maps in different terrains, and lore somehow, I would declare this the best game in history.

Definitely matchmaking has to be fixed, otherwise we’re going to get new content but we’re going to spend more time “queueing” rather than “playing” the new content…sad stuff…

I will be honest…I’m excited for it.
And it seems just as though the content of the game is to be taken as “canon”, hell yeah! :)
You see, I’m not saying nor I favour the idea that IllFonic pays attention to our posts, but who knows…they might be reading.
I still believing that their priority should be fixing some notorious issues with queueing, “incomplete” lobbies–otherwise, we’ll spend more time “queueing” rather then “playing” the new content. :)

Same for me, I’m still looking forward to see what this game will become. I’m dissapointed by the first dlc though, exept for the extra lore which is nice.
It’s a good thing that this game continues the story of the franchise, I just hope they’ll be able to actually deliver core contents to the gameplay soon. I mean, compared to other games (not big aaa) to say that some audio tapes and 1 skin is a dlc is pretty scary for the owners of PHG. I didn’t bought an audio player… I bought a game and I thought there would be some cinematics !
I can only hope that Dutch will at least have some special perks/ abilities/ stats to make him feel more unique…

Its from one of the graphic novels, forget the name. The story goes, as far as I remember, like this…
Long time ago, many hundreds of years a fella done a few bad things and the village were like right you gotta go. They sent him upto the mountains to live out his days, exiled and outcast from society.
While up there he found a crashed predator ship, hungry as ____ he decided to eat a predator heart to get by. This prolonged his life, and enabled him to live to present day. Something in their blood gives us a lot more longevity when eaten so he was hunting them down to try live forever. He got rich somehow and owned a corporation in Japan (I think).
While all of this is going on, he figured out that the predators normally turn up where the xenomorphs were knocking about. He was breeding them in a lab in the city then a load got free in the sewer. Don’t remember after that, or even if I’ve merged 2 different stories but thats what I remember of it!

Overall, it looks like the Predator lore is messy and contradictory, so I don’t think anything can be considered “canon”. It all just… exists.
I’d hope nothing so mediocre from illfonic would ever be considered Canon…the pred franchise does not need that lol
