Predator Weapon Balance

Hello all! Just picked up this game a few days ago and I’m loving it! I have a few questions/concerns if y’all don’t mind helping out a nooblet.

I personally think the net gun is too strong. Completely shutting down a target with no counterplay is worse than the one-shot plasma used to be IMO. At least that had a charge time and telegraph. It feels almost obligatory to take in case you’re up against a premade FT.

Also, is the Combistaff just plain superior to the other melee weapons? I never see anything else used, but I personally prefer the club for aesthetics.

Am I gimping myself if I go Club/Bow? I like both, but Staff/Net seems like such a powerful combo.

no counter play? your team mate can literally run upto you knife you and free you from it …

Berserker with inpenetrable perk and fearless perk with a combi stick and net gun will get you smashing 9/10 fire team even the organized teams, you use your spoon feeder target isolation straight from the start and game should be dead in 240 seconds anyone tries knife parry not only no longer firing which now at this time make them very vulnerable but just with a couple of jumps gets them slaughtered.

I solo queue so getting helped by a teammate pretty much never happens, but fair point. Still, there’s nothing an individual player can do so it’s pretty infuriating.

I actually prefer the Elder sword to the Combi stick. It does great damage, has great tracking, but is slow. I use it mostly for a hit once and run/leap away. It works surprisingly well.
But I do think the Combi stick is superior purely because it can be thrown and the throw does a crazy amount of damage and can 1 shot if it is a headshot, not to mention it can also blind so it is a much more versatile weapon overall.

Netgun is very strong but I like the way it is. I do think it should have less ammo as in its current state the Predator can happily fire it and not worry much about missing because it has 15 shots.

Yes i’ve decided to abuse the target isolation like many predator players whilst its helps straight from the beginning from match to get fire team pin pointed and ruin peoples ingame experience by slaughtering fire team quick and easy within a matter of 240 seconds of ingame play even the good teams to be fair havent seen many though but had a couple but thats spot spammers but you get them eventually with different approach lol very fun im lvl 100 so dont care for xp n my bio mask and spear and net gun and outfit are all systematic equipment got all that before the original patch instead of them ridiculous lockers giving out dublicutes i saved on the v tokens and spent wisely so dont need v tokens anymore, just had 2 guys on mic at the end of match just rage chat lol but hey im having a different kind of fun now thanks to target isolation that i can abuse, lol thanks for the unbalanced target isolation illfonic im smashing it and rage quitting people, lol

You know you are trashing well a trash FT. Maybe start a group with a good FT and you will realize target isolation isnt op. Its not hard to counter it. You will catch a glimpse of them in beginning but then their marks will dissapear as they muddy up. Also from the way you talk about pred im guessing Berserker build? Of course you run through trash FT with him. Maybe try scout if you want a challenge.

Of corse everyone i’ve locked up against as predator vs fire team in the game lobbies has been absolute crap yeah ok then lol you make it sounds like playing predator in an broken and unbalanced game sound so hard. Lol

One of the things that makes the combi-stick basically outright better than the other melee weapons is the massive damage cone making it all but immune to the target tracking problems that other melee weapons suffer from. If a FT member is zig-zagging away from the Predator most melee weapons will start missing at least every other swing even if you’re right next to the target, which is made worse by the fact that the Predator dumps all of his momentum and gets briefly softlocked until the animation is finished. The massive sweeps and little hops forward the Predator does with the combi-stick make it all but immune to these problems, and on top of that you can also throw it for a blind on top of huge damage.

The other melee weapons just don’t offer enough to make them worth taking and the combi-stick meta will not change unless the other weapons are fixed.

keep in mind weapon swing speeds as the rule club and stick are the same speed and are the slowest whearas i think the sword is the fastest swing
the stick is probably the 2nd best weapon in the game right now due to it’s superior range and tracking
the sword is by far the best in the current game due to it’s dmg output speed and it’s more difficult to parry since optimally you’lll be swinging once then walking due to its bad tracking/range
disc and club are lol don’t use them until their buffed tho disc still makes for a decent ranged tool
netgun is probably OP as it’s the best 2nd slot unless your running a ranged bow + something build

fearles + sword full combo hit = support down with perk owlf trained. 175 hp down in instant.
