When other player as pred dies, you or random other player will have sidequest to take it back or destroy it (preds body is on the spot where that player died)

What if the pred is a Viking or berserker with protection on and it takes several people to shoot off the mask, then when you do you have 2-3 sec left to disarm the bomb only for a “surprise” bomb reset which then kills you. How would that be fun for the FT? It would only incentivize running from the blast and at the point you may as well get rid of the diffusal altogether.
As for the other point if it can only be done by one person at a time you leave yourself open to beginners who don’t know what they’re doing which will result in everyone dying or griefers who will purposely camp the bomb so no one can. Both of these will them cause everyone to not even bother with diffusing at all and just runaway. If you make the blast larger yo compensate for those running away with these new mechanics then people just won’t try as either way they’re fucked for winning.
TBH you should only be able to arm your bomb if you choose to go down during second wind
In the comics, and even predators, preds typically go down without having a chance to self destruct.

At the same time, bomb have no point already
Bomb’s just a mini game to give the FT or the pred a little bit more XP at the end of the match other than that it’s just a gimmick to say “hey they do thing from the movie isn’t it cool?”. That’s the whole point to it, XP and nostalgia.
I don’t mind it how it is with how quickly you can die in this game. If you only make it so that you can only do it in 2nd wind then you’re not gonna see any bombs go off in any decent match.

The OWLF would devise a tool to automatically defuse the bomb
Theres already the mask perk thats actually relevant to the game & isnt just a meme suicide perk
I can think of a few things to make defuse more interesting or get harder.

Fugitive’s mask mounted plasmacaster auto firing meaning until it’s broken you can still get tagged by a dying Predator.

Cleaner kit being able to be deployed in second wind. Implodes an area roughly the size of the self-destruct. Only deployed once but can screw a fireteam in pursuit.

As an aside we saw Scar can take the thing off. Would be cool if we could drop it as a land mine. Maybe smaller blast radius for that with the caveat that you cannot self destruct.

Killing the pred and then dying to whats basically an automated turret after hes dead sounds super fun for everyone involved

At least these guys just want self destruct to be meanginful. That dude wanted Pred to have an auto win button
I want to be able to self destruct and the radius is the entire map. And also you cant defuse the bomb either
