Predators had some interesting ideas, but it tried too hard IMO. We didn’t need “super predators”… They could have just went with the bad blood mythos and not fuck with their morphology, but you know kids these days always wanting BIGGER BADDER BEDDER! Fucken tide pod munchers ruin everything.

They didn’t know what they were dealing with and neither did the audience.
And yet still got loads of character development, some who were friends, some who didn’t trust Dillion, some who would die to by others time. Each one adds to the story and as they are killed reveal more about the surviving characters. None were extra or forced.
Because of this scene, the Predator gloating and arrogant, sure he’s won. He loses, the audience gets its climax. The creature becomes a legend and spawns sequels across multiple media.
None of your points are about shoehorned or extra scenes. Some actually work against you. Spraying bullets is counter to how the characters should act but it was a testosterone fueled eighties action movie, and served its own purpose of showing how unnerved they all were.
They aren’t comparable scripts, Predators is clearly inferior and does many things unnecessarily.

I was fine with the hunting preserve planet and all that. They really didn’t have to try and re-invent the wheel though. Over explaining shit and adding new garbage like “the assasin” or “Ultimate Predator” hybrid bullshit in “the predator”… The lore is all over the place with this franchise… It doesn’t know what it wants to be. At least this game is doing a decent job of keeping things somewhat grounded given all the lazer eyed space shark jumping that’s happened.

Anna is most certainly not tacked on. She is part of the rush to get out, shares valuable information, makes one of the characters more useful by speaking Spanish and gives Arnold someone to yell his most famous line at.
