So I have to say this is most likely a case of a level 10 player feigning a much larger range of awareness. The Predator never spotting or even hurting anyone is almost pure fiction it is so over the top and any instances of this were likely by some grandma that doesn’t even know how to work a controller but I digress, let’s address some substance.
So I have played quite a bit of Predator and won about 60% of my matches and I can tell you that what I do see on Fireteam a lot of is Predators rushing in headfirst and getting wrecked after downing one or two guys. Yes. That is a thing. However attributing Predators losing your just being ‘trash’ is utter fantasy. Let’s just look at some basic facts:
With the claws it takes 4 hits with the Fearless perk to down an Assault commando with no perks and using zero stim. The war club, supposedly a heavy weapon, takes five and is slower. Throw on being a support for an extra hit, OWLF training and/or Tough Skin you are looking at 6-8 hits to down a fairly new player that maybe gets one lucky parry off. If this player is experienced and can parry reliably it could take 10+ hits just to down them without them ever popping one stim. The solution then I found was to hit them with the net gun which I have seen players break out of in about 3 seconds, hardly enough time to down them if they are full health. By comparison as a berserker class with Impenetrable running a single normal magazine from the starting rifle drains half your health and as a hunter or scout without it second winded you or damn near. So not only does it take exponentially longer to down one of them than you in melee combat, which is completely beyond the pale game breaking, but this means a full fire team unloading their clips and missing 75% of their shots and still second wind you. That means, with a good Fireteam and the perfect storm scenario they could kill you four times over in under five seconds. Contrast this with the most powerful tool the Predator has, the plasma caster, you could potentially down them all in one shot, which takes close to as long to charge as unloading a full clip, it they are all exactly next to each other. And that shot is telegraphed by the laser it shows, not that I have a problem with that. And that is, of course, assuming that that shot doesn’t get soaked by some leaves which curiously lack the same obstructing features when it comes to bullets or even arrows for that matter. And that is merely one variable which demonstrates how fragile the Predator is by comparison to the Fireteams. And you are suggesting there is no problem here?
