Predators players are generally not good

So I have to say this is most likely a case of a level 10 player feigning a much larger range of awareness. The Predator never spotting or even hurting anyone is almost pure fiction it is so over the top and any instances of this were likely by some grandma that doesn’t even know how to work a controller but I digress, let’s address some substance.

So I have played quite a bit of Predator and won about 60% of my matches and I can tell you that what I do see on Fireteam a lot of is Predators rushing in headfirst and getting wrecked after downing one or two guys. Yes. That is a thing. However attributing Predators losing your just being ‘trash’ is utter fantasy. Let’s just look at some basic facts:

With the claws it takes 4 hits with the Fearless perk to down an Assault commando with no perks and using zero stim. The war club, supposedly a heavy weapon, takes five and is slower. Throw on being a support for an extra hit, OWLF training and/or Tough Skin you are looking at 6-8 hits to down a fairly new player that maybe gets one lucky parry off. If this player is experienced and can parry reliably it could take 10+ hits just to down them without them ever popping one stim. The solution then I found was to hit them with the net gun which I have seen players break out of in about 3 seconds, hardly enough time to down them if they are full health. By comparison as a berserker class with Impenetrable running a single normal magazine from the starting rifle drains half your health and as a hunter or scout without it second winded you or damn near. So not only does it take exponentially longer to down one of them than you in melee combat, which is completely beyond the pale game breaking, but this means a full fire team unloading their clips and missing 75% of their shots and still second wind you. That means, with a good Fireteam and the perfect storm scenario they could kill you four times over in under five seconds. Contrast this with the most powerful tool the Predator has, the plasma caster, you could potentially down them all in one shot, which takes close to as long to charge as unloading a full clip, it they are all exactly next to each other. And that shot is telegraphed by the laser it shows, not that I have a problem with that. And that is, of course, assuming that that shot doesn’t get soaked by some leaves which curiously lack the same obstructing features when it comes to bullets or even arrows for that matter. And that is merely one variable which demonstrates how fragile the Predator is by comparison to the Fireteams. And you are suggesting there is no problem here?

That’s what I’ve been saying. I’m a Predator main and wreck the Fireteam almost every match. I haven’t died in two days. I was hoping my last match of the night would put up a fight, but nope I took all their skulls. If the Predator gets buffed, things are going to get ugly 😂 I don’t think a buff is needed at all. And I run the Scout.

Its really just a learning curve thing in my opinion, lots of people are casuals. The predator really isn’t a casual role, it takes persistence to learn.

Ive done my best to be very polite in this forum, cause I care about this young community. The real fact is, its only been a week people need time to learn before we make big changes.

Even good predators struggle. I’ve gone up against them and no matter what strategy they try, we counter it 10x harder. Only way a pred will win is if the fireteam are dumb.

I completely agree. But clowns will just ignore that and cry “get gUd Hur Durrrr”. Fact of the matter is balance in this game sucks ass.

That learning curve excuse is lame. Why should the predator require skill to play and not the fireteam? That’s bad balancing stop defending that crap.

Maybe cause we all grew up playing COD? This Predator gameplay is new? Use logic man

Or because the fireteam has a glaring advantage…stop defending shitty balance if you don’t want this game to die.

Yea, it;s all down to skill IMO and how you use it, parry sure is a problem. Well than avoid it where possible, i had a premade FT party and did not lose a game yet, one of our Pred buddies comes on that knows what he is doing, boom 2 draws one loss. Granted we never knife spammed, but he was all over the show jumping around cannons, combi throws , netgun, ground smashes , bear traps, trackers. It was insanely fantastic gameplay, kept us on our toe’s the whole time.

Im not gonna respect your opinion if you’re not gonna talk like an adult. I get it needs balance

Thisssssss! Exactly this!

As a person that’s played the shit out if FT (not by choice) the difference in a Predator that uses every part of it’s kit - movement included - is a force to be reckoned with.

When people start playing Predz a little more creatively, then we’ll have discussions on our hands.

I’m not saying Predator doesn’t need some tweaks here and there - just as FT need some tweaks
But he’s certainly not as underpowered as people are letting off.

We are at the disadvantage of the entire canopy being essentially useless because of overegzagerated motion and debree so an argument could be made that a core part of the game needs redesigned for proper use before any real predators will get a chance to emerge, the way it stands predator has no counter for a sniper rifle and a perk? Common thats not not realistic untill sound ques and things like that can be adjusted.

A learning curve is one thing. Having to kill most FT’s twice over and then having an effectively endless supply of munitions and health items while being just as resilient, if not more so, than the Predator whilst having exponentially higher damage potential even with a comparably inferior skill level is entirely another.

I dont disagree with you at all my yautja brother, im just pushing back against drastic change. Im a conservative by nature

It takes time to learn how to play a predator. It’s not as easy as point click shoot. There are many factors to consider.

I agree that reinforcements need to be tweeked

He’ll get rekt before his FT even gets to the first objective lol. We PC players have very sharp aim. I myself have been a gamer for 29 years. Console players are nothing but target practice for the real thing. PC players lol. No way a console gamer can aim as precisely as a PC gamer.

It’s boring and frustrating waiting for 5+ minutes to get into a game. Predator can lift a guy with one arm ffs. How does a little knife stop him. Pfft gtfo here with that shit.

Predator should be able to call in his ship to blast them. They get a chopper to help. Why can’t we get our ship to help? So much has been left out it’s not even funny.
