Predlocks are maybe connected to FPS?

So, my Boyfriend mentioned that the Predlocks go crazy because of them being connected to FPS, which he means is not a good thing to do.

Well, if your FPS probably is not constant (PC or PS4) or poorly because the game can’t stay on a constant height it will cause them to go crazy as it is seems to be the cause with the Viking’s, Valkyrie’s, Alpha’s, Youngblood’s, Elder’s and Thin’s (remembering the Predlocks from memory of what I noticed myself or in stream’s)

I don’t know if somebody maybe found a fix and would like to share it. Be it in-game settings adjusted or outside of the game settings.

And maybe @OldKingHamlet you maybe could put this on this list for fixes and find a way to make them act like normal “hair” just as they were before some updates.

Platform: PC HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook, Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1650, RAM 8 GB - will be upgraded soon, Intel i5-9030
In-game Graphics: Are all on high, except two on middle and one on Epic. In-game FPS are currently uncapped. V-sync is turned on.

Anyway thanks for anybody joining into this discussion.
Aihrui

That’s interesting to know

This is so far on the bottom of the list that it goes ignored everytime someone posy about them.

There hasn’t been a reply to this type of stuff since the start of the game! Plz move on from this trivial minor inconvenience of a bug that does not effect gameplay in any shape or form

But stuff like this can still be discussed by us.
It just wanted to share my BF’s thought about to why the Predlocks go crazy since he himself doesn’t have a Account here.

He came up with them maybe being connected to FPS and I found it interesting and just wanted to share the thought on here for just that discussion and maybe making a little reminder to the Devs about it. The Predlock issue hasn’t been mentioned like in months as much as I’m aware off it.

You boyfriend was right Aihrui, the are dependant on FPS - i was doing testing on male/ female defaults and Viking predlocks - with stable FPS all is fine, as soon as you are with someone in game whose FPS is lower or higher than yours they go crazy. That is a nice find ;-) Shame there is nothing that can be done about it I guess

EDIT: don’t know how long you had this game for, I had it since day 1, and predlocs had a different animation/physics system back then (they were less stiff). I honestly can’t remember was this also an issue back then, or only started after they’ve changed the physics system

Lol!

If been in the game since August 2020.
And before a curtain patch the Viking Predlocks where normal for me too.
I think it was patch 2.16 after which they started to go crazy.

For me this fix is long overdue. I’ve noticed it for a while since 1.08. I call it the Medusa bug based on the mythological cre…do I seriously need to explain her? Anyways ever since that update, they’ve been going on the fritz like Medusa’s hair. But it only happens when I predakor and in multiplayer or custom games with other people. When I’m playing alone they function normally. I’m on PS4 by the way.

Another thing to note, when I throw the smart disk, it somehow resets the predlocks returning them to normal until I predakor again.

It’s been an issue since 1.08 the some update Dutch 2025 was released. Since then illfonic has done absolutely nothing to fix it.

PlayStation is usually different from Pc.
I for example have seen PlayStation Predator, who don’t have the bug at all.
So … well.
But yeah, the physics need to be brought back to the ones from the early days or maybe a overwork in general to fix the bug.
