Preds noises and stealth issues

So theres a few topics like this but thought id address each aspect of pred-stealth issues I think we have.

Footsteps -
Fine for zerker, Maybe a quieter for the other two when on ground, and quieter for all when in trees. Until AVP2010 you didnt hear elephant stomping from any pred, although they were all zerker types so sorta makes sense, but yeah the hunter and scout should be a little lighter on the stomping.

Noises - I think noises are mental on this, it constantly gives away the predators position. Maybe change it to so the predator only makes the noises either by command of the player (to taunt) or… after sitting still for more than 10 seconds.

The Active Cammo - Close range im actually fine with this, looks like the movies, But long range? Its actually easier to see a cloaked pred than it is NPCs. From long range its just a perfect predator shaped outline running around. (thats running on highest graphics). If anything it HIGHLIGHTS the predator, rather than hides it.
I mean sometimes its harder to see an uncloaked pred running about than a cloaked one. Which is a bit daft, but again, only at long ranges.

Some additional stealth tips for Predators. For reference, I play Scout.

Footsteps:
You are actually quieter leaping about than running. Crouch walk or leap when possible. When leaping obviously try not to leap into line of sight of the FT.

Noises:
Predator makes involuntary clicking/purring noised when cloaked, so only cloak when needed. If you are behind cover, the FT already cannot see you. There is no need to be cloaked and let them hear you making the involuntary noises. You can also toggle your Biomask off to stop the humming it generates, but know the FT can hear this as well.

Cloaking:
As @Corsin22 has pointed out, sometimes the cloak makes you easier to pick out from far away. Try not to cloak when it is not needed and use the terrain as cover for your advance. These “perma stealth” builds you see out there are just wasting perk slots in my opinion, as permanent cloaking is not necessary, or even that helpful.

Trees:
No. Unless it is to mix it up and keep the FT guessing. The trees are often the first place the FT looks when they can tell you are near.

Bio Mask:
I know this one I do as well, popping this on is like igniting your first light sabre in a Star Wars game. This is a sound and part of the universe that I will never grow tired of! However, this also makes a humming noise the FT can hear. The humming can mess with your own hearing, and makes it more difficult to pinpoint sounds that do not show up in your vision. It also hampers your vision more that you may think and can cause you to focus in too much on what you can see and miss a lot of extra information. Use this sparingly.

Edit: editing as I think of more things

@Corsin22 geeze, you make a nice helpful respectful post and everyone ignores it. Maybe we need some drama in here?

Yeah so, no you are DUM and STUPIDE and not play rite. Stop Cry!

I know right. xD

To me Predators should know through their training how to soften their steps, their landings after a jump, have quiet breathing etc.
You know like how ninjas train to walk soft?

most of how the Predator is being noticed just doesnt make sense to me.

In the first predator movie the HP was so quiet that Dutch only noticed him when the HP was right next to him.

This game needs to nerf the crap out of all these loud sounds the Predators make. Most of these sounds should only be heard by the Predator. Breathing, cloaking, power up plasma caster.

Moving through trees is also broken on how loud it is. Again this goes back to a movie reference… when moving through the trees in Predator 1 he is barely heard throughout the whole movie by the humans. there are only a few clips of the Predator moving through the trees but the noises are very minute and barley audible to someone who may have been below him.

thats probably the most annoying thing
thats kinda normal that a zerk is doing alot of noise but why does the hunter and especially the scout are super loud . They should do something about how noisy and not sneaky are the scout and the hunter.
Actualy i feel like tree are a fucking bait , the predator is even more noticeable when he’s climbing or mooving in trees (thats also kinda dumb that there is 1 perk to climb faster and an other to moove faster on tree .They should be one 3 points perk actualy even if it’s super pleasant to use those 2 perks . You can’t because there is much more essential perks , you can’t waste 2 spot)
and the cherry on the cake : spam spotting . There is so many time during which the fire team have an idea where you might be so they just spam spot this area to reveal you

Game Balance Plot Armor

I know right, if not training how about #PediatricSolesForTheHunt!

I realize they are going all “survival mode” during the hunt in netted undies and bikini armor. But damn. Can you wear something better than sandals on your feet? They have iWatches and iSpears, but not even back to the future shoes that “tie” themselves?
