I wasn’t arguing that it is not stealing. I just don’t blame someone for doing it. Like a hungry jobless person that steals produce and squats in an abandoned building. Should they do it? No. But it’s not really hurting anybody. These huge businesses are full of shady executives that cause way more social harm, through economic influence, lobbying, etc., to the average person than any amount of individuals pirating some movies to watch for themselves. The person distributing the pirated material is causing some harm, and they’ll probably be the ones that get caught and punished eventually.
