I started the game on my PC but decided I’d switch to PS4 to play with my friends. I switch over and my progression from the PC is completely gone. Can anyone help?

Sorry this isn’t helpful but I’m also concerned about this, I’m on ps4 and wanna swap to pc myself. Also wondering if we can link the two in any way so extra content we own on one transfers over.
How do you “swap” buy the game twice?
My question is if I buy the game again on pc, will I have access to the extra content I already own on ps4, since there is cross play I assume there is an account linking process but I wanna be sure. For example I have modern warfare on my xbox and ps4 and ive played on pc, because if account linking I can buy content while playing on xbox and use it on my pc and ps4. Before I buy this game on pc I wanna know for sure if any extra content I already own will carry over there.
