We have only heard “Oh this film will do this and that, it’s more like The Revenant than Predator, blah, blah.”
There is no definitive statement that this film is Canonical. AvP Galaxy implying as such is hype mongering in that regard. Another comparison is “Prometheus makes AvP Non-Canon bro”, then like a year later or something, a Engineer and Predator smack eachother around in a shared world of Alien/Predator/Prometheus.
Meanwhile, Hunting Grounds have literal statements of canonicity that can apply to mostly everything in the game (lore wise) barring gameplay stuff because that’s how that goes.
Ok so your entire point is, what if that’s not what happens in the movie? So you agree what when it is what happens it will just erase all this from canon right? Lol

Terminator went rogue on 3. Story was wrapped up tight after T2 with a neat little bow on it till people came by and decided to try to squeeze more cash out of it.
I’m fuzzy on Halloween, been forever but if I remember correctly around 3 or 4 that shit went right off the rails with Michael’s story and such.

My entire point is that if this movie turns out to be what’s it’s been told to be, objectively this game and a lot of extended lore won’t be canon anymore. AND IM NOT SAYING IM HAPPY ABOUT IT! Also as a matter of fact if this film is what it’s been told to be, AVP will then DEFINITELY not be canon cause this will have been there first visit, not back in ancient times to help build pyramids lol. I’m assuming you mean “what if the movie does what it says it’s gonna do?” Then sure. There will be some problems in the timeline, which isn’t anything new. Worst case, it is in fact a full Retcon and will I be butthurt if that is a case? Definitely, but at least it would be stated, and not by some Producers who clearly want to hype the movie and lowkey don’t know their audience already.

Meanwhile The Predator was literally going to have the same actress that played Ms.Yutani from Requiem reprise her role and is even still present in the credits, not to mention Time Travling Ripley and the Alien Tail that’s still in the film. It’s really pushing the “Easter Egg” title to the breaking point lmao.
Terminator tries to follow a storyline it’s just a bad one. A really really really shit one. 1 and 2 are chefs kiss. Then the rest is just dogshit. But it’s all the same series of events in that dogshit. With predator, it’s FULLY contradicting storylines
You’re gonna make me type it out huh lol. K well. First off, cause it’s explicitly stated that it’s not canon you can just google that. Secondly. If fucking ALIENS swarmed a town like that, there would be SHIT LOADS of footage of them all over the internet. It would be world wide news the moment one kid put up a Snapchat or FB post. And in Aliens, they state, nothing like this has ever been seen in over (enter number here it was something high) surveyed worlds.
If you wanna make a movie with aliens, it NEEDS to be in the future. Unless you make an extremely isolated incident, where everyone dies. It just won’t work. If anything in the film happens where the public would have seen/ recorded the aliens, it’s instantly nonsense as far as storytelling goes because it directly contradicts with Aliens.
And imma go out my way to say “aliens” is law because that’s the best movie out of all of these films.
So we have 1. It’s just blatantly stated. 2. MASSIVE plot holes that would not allow these films to even exist in the same universe. And 3. I do want a canon AVP but it will need to be a storyline similar to the 2010 game
I honestly think that Terminator 3 wasn’t that bad. I’ve seen it when it came out, sure it didn’t top T2, but hardly any movie can imo.
Alien 3 was fine, kinda different, 4th one, I saw it when I was a kid and some parts of it were decent, up until that albino alien, that was just, dunno, weird.

T 3 was just underwhelming not awful. And Alien 3 was total dogshit not for what it was but for what it wasn’t. Literally killed off Hicks and Newt offscreen. Bruh. You literally are making the entire story of one of the greatest sci-fi action films ever irrelevant
I liked T3 cause it was different in some ways, also Kristana Loken, female Terminator, I think she did very well. I’ve seen some movies with her before T2.
The same did Ridley with Covenant, killed off Shaw offscreen and she was one good main, strong female lead that Alien movies didn’t had in some time.
My beef with T3 is that it essentially had to create a whole second skynet, which basically retcons the whole 2nd movie. T2 wrapped nice, skynet prevented, no war no end of humanity. Now it’s skynet 2.0 with his kid…which is not the same world Kyle Reese came from really.
Alien 3 stuck with the story good…even if it was a shitty story. Resurrection was the same deal as T3 though “Wait…go back we can make more money”.
