PS 5 stick drift

Is anyone getting this? My right analog stick is getting it really bad. It’s making the game unplayable. I notice it in warzone as well but it’s barely there. For some reason it’s specifically bad on this game.

Controller is only about 6 months old and kept very clean.

Just played a rebirth in warzone, noticed zero stick drift

Its the controller its self.

The 1st gen Ps5 controllers are shit.

So if I were to get a new one, same issue?
Nvm video answered. Thanks
What I don’t understand is why it’s so bad in this game but barely even there in others

Good to know ps5 controllers are just as bad about drifting as the ps4 ones.

Bring back ps3 controllers.

Default deadzone settings

Isnt there a lawsuit over the controllers? 😄

Is that fixable

I have repaired ps4 controllers that do it , but the simplest fix is a new pad sadly

If it doesn’t have deadzones under options, probably not. If the devs leave it at some bad default you’re just screwed.

If there’s deadzone under options you just turn that setting up until the drifting mostly stops, but it affects sensivity.

That explains why this game is so bad butt I barely see it at all with COD

Its about the games settings for stick activity. Cyberpunk had the same problem but then once you go into the settings and set the active area, it no longer is a problem.

again, if the game’s developers have a tendency to make the game sensitive to start with, you’ll need to access what they propose to do to fix it. Otherwise, unless PS has controller options that will over ride this, then you’re stuck with drifting.

I like this coherent, helpful version of you.

Seriously, thank you

If drifting is an issue for a particular game, make a bug report. I’m sure they will be on it. if its this game in particular, you’re right. I noticed the drift on PS4 pro on the demo release. If they haven’t fixed it, its kind of our fault for not reporting it.
For this game, if they fixed it for PS then it would be adjusted for all platforms. There is a specific setting like I said for Cyberpunk and is likely an adjustable setting or something done in the backend as a one and done and not likely a setting you can adjust (PHG doesn’t look like theyve attached anything that looks like it does in Cyberpunk).
Again, its a known issue for FPS games, and its either something you can adjust or they will do a backend adjustment.

Not just FPS games. Fighting games are notorious for stick drift fucking the player over too. I went through 3 different PS3 controllers in that generation because half my time was spent on games like 3rd Strike. Suppose it comes with the territory but boy do they not make pads like they used to. I don’t recall ever having a single PS2 controller get stick drift for example.

yeah i know about the drift, and they say you should massage it and make it do yoga or take a cotton swab and … But no. Its a sensitiviely adjustment area.

Your controllers clean if it looks clean. Every game is conditioned differently and if they don’t make appropriate updates for it, then drift is likely to fuck it up.

Get a xim adapter and use whatever controllers you want, including K&M. You can adjust deadzones on it and keep using “defective” controllers.

Or check with Sony if your controller is still under warranty or if there was a recall due to manufacturing defects

The deadzone, thats the term. Its probably likely that if you have it everyone else who plays the game has it. Unless you’re using a keyboard /mouse.

Back in the day controllers had their own dead zone hard coded. So it didn’t matter much.

With time the sensitivity has increased so much that the deadzone has become so small that when sticks become “worn” they may start drifting (which means the stick isn’t properly centered when left untouched).

Some game developers have coded internal deadzones adjustments on their games as a way to fix this (and further taylor your controller response to your preference). But not all of them. Some have a fixed deadzone set and others have no deadzone at all (possibly PHG’s case)

Very small deadzones in this game. I have terrible stick drift on my PS4 controller right now, especially in this game. But if I play World of Warships or Destiny, it’s completely gone.
